Votum Plus ist eine Kombination von 2 Wirkstoffen, Olmesartanmedoxomil und Hydrochlorothiazid, die zur Behandlung des Bluthochdrucks (Hypertonie) angewendet werden.
Die Kombination beider Wirkstoffe in Votum Plus senkt den Blutdruck stärker als wenn jeder Wirkstoff alleine gegeben würde.
Votum Plus wird angewendet zur Behandlung des nicht Organ-bedingten Bluthochdrucks (essentielle Hypertonie), wenn die Behandlung mit einem Wirkstoff alleine bei Ihnen zu keiner ausreichenden Blutdrucksenkung geführt hat.
Votum Plus Filmtabletten sollen nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes/ der Ärztin eingenommen werden.
Bluthochdruck kann die Blutgefässe verschiedener Organe, wie die des Herzens, der Nieren, des Gehirns und der Augen schädigen. In manchen Fällen kann dies zum Herzinfarkt, Herz- oder Nierenversagen, Schlaganfall oder zur Erblindung führen. Gewöhnlich zeigen sich keine Symptome des Bluthochdrucks. Es ist aber wichtig Ihren Blutdruck kontrollieren zu lassen und bei zu hohen Werten zu behandeln, um das Auftreten von späteren Schädigungen zu vermeiden.
Bluthochdruck kann mit Arzneimitteln wie Votum Plus behandelt und unter Kontrolle gebracht werden. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin hat Ihnen wahrscheinlich auch empfohlen, Ihre Lebensgewohnheiten zu ändern, um die Blutdrucksenkung zu unterstützen (Gewichtsreduktion, Aufgeben des Rauchens, Vermeidung von Alkohol, salzarme Ernährung). Er hat Sie möglicherweise auch ermutigt, sich regelmässig leicht körperlich zu betätigen, wie z.B. durch Gehen und Schwimmen. Es ist wichtig, diesen Anweisungen Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin zu folgen.
Votum Plus darf nicht eingenommen werden:
Dieses Arzneimittel enthält Lactose (Milchzucker). Falls bei Ihnen eine Unverträglichkeit gegenüber einigen Zuckern besteht, sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin bevor Sie dieses Arzneimittel einnehmen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie eines der folgenden Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von hohem Blutdruck einnehmen:
Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird gegebenenfalls Ihre Nierenfunktion, Ihren Blutdruck und die Elektrolytwerte (z.B. Kalium) in Ihrem Blut in regelmässigen Abständen überprüfen.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten, insbesondere unter folgenden gesundheitlichen Problemen leiden:
Verständigen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie starken anhaltenden Durchfall bekommen und dadurch erheblich an Gewicht verlieren.
Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird Ihre Beschwerden beurteilen und entscheiden, wie Ihr Blutdruck weiter behandelt werden soll.
Votum Plus kann zum Anstieg der Blutfette und des Harnsäurespiegels führen (Ursache der Gicht ? eine schmerzhafte Gelenkschwellung). Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird wahrscheinlich in bestimmten Abständen Ihr Blut untersuchen wollen, um diese Werte zu überprüfen.
Votum Plus kann den Flüssigkeits- und Salzhaushalt Ihres Körpers auf verschiedene Weise beeinflussen.
Vor Beginn der Behandlung mit Votum Plus wird der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin Ihren Kreislauf und Ihr Blut kontrollieren und bei einem allfälligen Mangel an Flüssigkeit und Salzen diesen zuerst ausgleichen, um eine zu starke Blutdrucksenkung zu vermeiden. Auch während der Therapie mit Votum Plus wird er bzw. sie die Salze (v.a. Kalium, Magnesium, Natrium, Chlorid) im Blut kontrollieren.
Die folgenden Symptome können Anzeichen sein von Störungen im Flüssigkeits- und Salzhaushalt Ihres Körpers: Durst, trockener Mund, Schwächegefühl, Antriebslosigkeit (Lethargie), Schläfrigkeit, Unruhe, Muskelschmerzen oder -krämpfe, Muskelschwäche, zu tiefer Blutdruck, verminderte Harnausscheidung, Herzjagen und Verdauungsstörungen wie Übelkeit und Erbrechen (siehe auch «Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Votum Plus haben?»).
Bitte informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn bei Ihnen solche Symptome auftreten.
Wie bei jedem blutdrucksenkenden Arzneimittel könnte ein übermässiger Blutdruckabfall bei Patienten mit Herzerkrankung oder arteriosklerotischer Erkrankung der Hirngefässe zu einem Herzinfarkt oder Schlaganfall führen. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird deswegen Ihren Blutdruck sorgfältig überprüfen.
Wenn bei Ihnen eine Untersuchung der Funktion der Nebenschilddrüsen vorgesehen ist, sollten Sie vor den betreffenden Tests die Einnahme von Votum Plus unterbrechen.
Falls Sie Sportler/Sportlerin sind, kann dieses Medikament zu einem positiven Resultat im Antidopingtest führen.
Bitte informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker, bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel einnehmen/anwenden bzw. vor kurzem eingenommen haben, auch wenn es sich um nicht verschreibungspflichtige Arzneimittel handelt. Denn es kann zu Wechselwirkungen zwischen diesen Arzneimitteln und Votum Plus kommen (Verstärkung oder Abschwächung der Wirkung oder vermehrte Nebenwirkungen).
Eventuell ist es notwendig, die Dosierung zu verändern, bestimmte Untersuchungen durchzuführen, oder eine gleichzeitige Anwendung ganz zu unterlassen.
Dies gilt vor allem für folgende Arzneimittel:
Wie bei anderen blutdrucksenkenden Arzneimitteln kann auch bei Votum Plus Schwindel und Müdigkeit auftreten. Deshalb ist im Strassenverkehr und beim Bedienen von Maschinen Vorsicht geboten.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie:
Votum Plus darf während der Schwangerschaft nicht eingenommen werden.
Teilen Sie Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin mit, wenn Sie vermuten, schwanger zu sein (oder schwanger werden könnten). Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird Ihnen ein anderes Arzneimittel empfehlen.
Teilen Sie Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin mit, wenn Sie stillen oder mit dem Stillen beginnen wollen. Votum Plus wird nicht zur Anwendung bei stillenden Müttern empfohlen. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin kann eine andere Behandlung für Sie wählen, wenn Sie stillen wollen, vor allem, solange Ihr Kind im Neugeborenenalter ist oder wenn es eine Frühgeburt war.
Fragen Sie vor der Einnahme von allen Arzneimitteln Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat.
Nehmen Sie Votum Plus immer genau nach der Anweisung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin ein. Bitte fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin nach, wenn Sie sich nicht ganz sicher sind.
Votum Plus Filmtabletten können mit den Mahlzeiten oder unabhängig davon eingenommen werden. Die Filmtabletten sollten mit 1 Glas Wasser ganz geschluckt werden. Sie sollten Ihre tägliche Dosis möglichst um die gleiche Tageszeit nehmen, z.B. zum Frühstück. Es ist wichtig, dass Sie Votum Plus so lange einnehmen, bis Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin Ihnen etwas anderes sagt.
Falls vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet, ist die empfohlene Dosierung 1 Filmtablette Votum Plus 20 mg/12,5 mg bzw. 40 mg/12,5 mg täglich. Wenn keine ausreichende Kontrolle des Blutdrucks mit einer Filmtablette Votum Plus 20 mg/12,5 mg bzw. 40 mg/12,5 mg erreicht wird, kann Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin die Dosis auf 1 Filmtablette Votum Plus 20 mg/25 mg bzw. 40 mg/25 mg erhöhen.
Eine Dosisanpassung ist nicht notwendig.
Votum Plus soll nicht an Kinder und Jugendliche unter 18 Jahren verabreicht werden.
Bei stark eingeschränkter Leber- oder Nierenfunktion darf Votum Plus nicht eingenommen werden.
Bei mässigen Störungen der Leberfunktion erfolgt die Dosierung gemäss Anweisung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin; die maximale Dosis von 1 Filmtablette Votum Plus 20 mg/25 mg darf nicht überstiegen werden.
Wenn Sie eine grössere Menge Votum Plus eingenommen haben, als Sie sollen, oder wenn ein Kind die Filmtabletten geschluckt hat, setzen Sie sich sofort mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ärztin oder mit der Notaufnahme des nächsten Krankenhauses in Verbindung und nehmen Sie die Arzneimittelpackung mit.
Wenn Sie einmal die tägliche Dosis vergessen haben, nehmen Sie Ihre normale Dosis am nächsten Tag ein. Nehmen Sie keine zusätzliche Filmtablette ein, um die vergessene Einnahme auszugleichen.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Allergische Reaktionen, die möglicherweise den ganzen Körper betreffen, mit Schwellung von Gesicht, Mund und/oder Kehlkopf gemeinsam mit Juckreiz und Ausschlag können selten auftreten. Sollte dies auftreten, nehmen Sie keine weitere Tablette Votum Plus ein und kontaktieren Sie umgehend Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Votum Plus kann bei empfindlichen Personen oder als Folge einer allergischen Reaktion eine zu starke Blutdrucksenkung auslösen. Gelegentlich kann eine Benommenheit oder Ohnmacht auftreten. Sollte dies eintreten, nehmen Sie keine weitere Tablette Votum Plus ein, verständigen Sie umgehend Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin und legen Sie sich flach hin.
Votum Plus ist eine Kombination von zwei Wirkstoffen. Nachfolgend werden zuerst weitere mögliche Nebenwirkungen (neben den oben genannten) aufgeführt, die mit der Kombination Votum Plus beobachtet wurden, danach mögliche Nebenwirkungen, die für die einzelnen Wirkstoffe bekannt sind.
Um Ihnen eine Vorstellung zu geben, wie viele Patienten Nebenwirkungen bekommen können, sind diese als häufig, gelegentlich, selten oder sehr selten aufgeführt. Bei der Bewertung von Nebenwirkungen werden folgende Häufigkeitsangaben zugrunde gelegt:
Sehr häufig: Betrifft mehr als 1 von 10 Behandelten, Häufig: betrifft 1 bis 10 Behandelte von 100. Gelegentlich: betrifft 1 bis 10 Behandelte von 1?000. Selten: betrifft 1 bis 10 Behandelte von 10?000. Sehr selten: betrifft weniger als 1 Behandelten von 10?000.
Wenn diese Nebenwirkungen auftreten, sind sie oft leichter Natur, und Sie müssen die Behandlung nicht abbrechen.
Schwindelgefühl, Schwäche, Kopfschmerzen, Müdigkeit, Schmerzen im Brustkorb, geschwollene Knöchel, Füsse, Beine, Hände oder Arme.
Herzklopfen, Ausschlag, Ekzem, Schwindel, Husten, Verdauungsstörungen, Bauchschmerzen, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Durchfall, Muskelkrämpfe und Muskelschmerzen, Schmerzen in den Gelenken, Armen und Beinen, Rückenschmerzen, Erektionsstörungen, Blut im Urin.
Einige Veränderungen der Ergebnisse von Blutuntersuchungen wurden ebenfalls gelegentlich beobachtet; dazu gehören: Anstieg der Blutfette, Anstieg von Harnstoff oder Harnsäure im Blut, Anstieg von Kreatinin, Anstieg oder Erniedrigung von Kalium im Blut, Anstieg von Kalzium im Blut, Anstieg des Blutzuckers, Anstieg von Leberfunktionswerten. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin kann dies durch eine Blutuntersuchung feststellen und wird Sie informieren, falls Sie etwas beachten müssen.
Unwohlsein, Bewusstseinsstörungen, Hauterhebungen (Quaddeln), akutes Nierenversagen.
Anstieg von Harnstoff-Stickstoff im Blut, erniedrigte Hämoglobin- und Hämatokrit-Werte. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin kann dies durch eine Blutuntersuchung feststellen und wird Sie informieren, falls etwas beachten müssen.
Bronchitis, Husten, laufende oder verstopfte Nase, Halsschmerzen, Bauchschmerzen, Verdauungsstörungen, Durchfall, Übelkeit, Magen-Darm-Entzündung, Schmerzen in den Gelenken oder Knochen, Rückenschmerzen, Blut im Urin, Infektionen der Harnwege, grippeähnliche Symptome, Schmerzen.
Anstieg der Blutfette, Anstieg von Harnstoff oder Harnsäure im Blut, Anstieg der Leber- und Muskelfunktionswerte.
Schmerz oder unangenehmes Gefühl im Brustkorb, bekannt als Angina pectoris, Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen, die den ganzen Körper betreffen können und die sowohl Atemprobleme als auch einen raschen Blutdruckabfall, der sogar bis zur Ohnmacht führen kann, verursachen können (anaphylaktische Reaktionen, zum Teil schwere Reaktionen), Gesichtsschwellung, Unwohlsein, allergischer Hautausschlag, Juckreiz, Exanthem (Hautausschlag), Hauterhebungen (Quaddeln).
Verringerte Anzahl bestimmter Blutzellen, bekannt als Blutplättchen (Thrombozytopenie).
Nierenfunktionsstörung, Kraftlosigkeit.
Anstieg von Kalium im Blut.
Starker, anhaltender Durchfall, welcher zu Gewichtsverlust führt.
Veränderungen der Ergebnisse von Blutuntersuchungen: Anstieg von Blutfetten und von Harnsäure.
Verwirrtheit, Bauchschmerzen, Magenverstimmung, Blähungen, Durchfall, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Verstopfung, Ausscheidung von Zucker in den Urin.
Anstieg von Kreatinin, Harnstoff, Kalzium und Zucker im Blut, Erniedrigung von Chlorid, Kalium, Magnesium und Natrium im Blut, Anstieg der Amylasewerte im Blut (Hyperamylasämie).
Appetitverminderung, Appetitlosigkeit, starke Schwierigkeiten beim Atmen, anaphylaktische Hautreaktionen (Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen), Verschlechterung einer vorbestehenden Kurzsichtigkeit (Myopie), Hautrötungen (Erytheme), Hautreaktionen auf Licht, Juckreiz, rote Punkte oder Flecken auf der Haut aufgrund kleinster Blutungen (Purpura), Hauterhebungen (Quaddeln).
Geschwollene und schmerzende Speicheldrüsen, verringerte Anzahl an weissen Blutkörperchen, verringerte Anzahl an Blutplättchen, Blutarmut (Anämie), Knochenmarksschädigung, Unruhe, Gefühl von Niedergeschlagenheit oder Depression, Schlafstörungen, Teilnahmslosigkeit (Apathie), Kribbeln und Taubheitsgefühl, Krampfanfälle (Konvulsionen), Gelbsehen, verschwommenes Sehen, trockene Augen, Herzrhythmusstörungen, Entzündung der Blutgefässe, Blutgerinnsel (Thrombosen oder Embolien), Lungenentzündung, Flüssigkeitsansammlung in der Lunge, Entzündung der Bauchspeicheldrüse, Gelbsucht, Gallenblasenentzündung, Symptome von Lupus erythematodes der Haut, wie Ausschlag, Gelenkschmerzen sowie kalte Hände und Finger, allergische Hautreaktionen, Ablösung und Blasenbildung der Haut, nicht-infektiöse Nierenentzündung (interstitielle Nephritis), Fieber, Muskelschwäche (manchmal mit Bewegungseinschränkungen, Paresis).
Elektrolytstörungen, die zu einem anormal niedrigen Chloridspiegel im Blut führen (hypochlorämische Alkalose), Darmverschluss (paralytischer Ileus).
Informieren Sie bitte Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn eine der aufgeführten Nebenwirkungen Sie erheblich beeinträchtigt oder Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die nicht in dieser Gebrauchsinformation angegeben sind.

1 Filmtablette Votum Plus 20 mg/12,5 mg (rötlich-gelbe, runde Filmtabletten mit einseitiger Prägung «C22») enthält 20 mg Olmesartanmedoxomil und 12,5 mg Hydrochlorothiazid.
1 Filmtablette Votum Plus 20 mg/25 mg (leicht rosafarbene, runde Filmtabletten mit einseitiger Prägung «C24») enthält 20 mg Olmesartanmedoxomil und 25 mg Hydrochlorothiazid.
1 Filmtablette Votum Plus 40 mg/12,5 mg (rötlich-gelbe, ovale Filmtabletten mit einseitiger Prägung «C23») enthält 40 mg Olmesartanmedoxomil und 12,5 mg Hydrochlorothiazid.
