Sumatriptan Sandoz wird angewendet in der akuten Behandlung von Migräneanfällen.
Es wird angenommen, dass Migränekopfschmerzen durch eine schmerzhafte Erweiterung und Entzündung von Blutgefässen im Kopf verursacht werden. Sumatriptan Sandoz lindert die Migränekopfschmerzen, indem es die erweiterten Blutgefässe verengt.
Sumatriptan Sandoz darf nicht zur Vorbeugung (Prophylaxe) gegen Migräne verwendet werden.
Sumatriptan Sandoz soll nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin hin eingenommen werden.
Sumatriptan Sandoz darf nicht eingenommen werden bei Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber einem Bestandteil des Präparates, bei unbehandeltem Bluthochdruck, durchgemachtem Herzinfarkt, bei Beeinträchtigung der Nierenfunktion und bei schweren Lebererkrankungen oder bekannten Durchblutungsstörungen des Herzens (Angina pectoris), des Gehirns und der Gliedmassen.
Sumatriptan Sandoz darf nicht zusammen mit folgenden Arzneimitteln angewendet werden:
In seltenen Fällen kann ein sogenanntes «Serotonin-Syndrom» auftreten, wenn Triptane wie z.B. Sumatriptan Sandoz zusammen mit anderen Arzneimitteln mit serotonerger Wirkung angewendet werden. Dazu gehören bestimmte Arzneimittel gegen Depressionen (z.B. sogenannte selektive Serotonin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer oder selektive Serotonin/Noradrenalin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer, sogenannte MAO-Hemmer, L-Tryptophan, Lithium, trizyklische Antidepressiva u.a.). Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie mit diesen Arzneimitteln behandelt werden. Das «Serotonin-Syndrom» kann folgende Symptome umfassen: Gesteigerte Erregbarkeit der Muskeleigenreflexe, Muskelzuckungen, Zittern, Unruhe, Angst, Halluzinationen, Reizbarkeit bis zum Verwirrtheitszustand und zur Bewusstlosigkeit, schneller Herzschlag, Blutdruckschwankungen, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Fieber und Durchfall. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn nach der Einnahme von Sumatriptan Sandoz eines dieser Symptome auftritt.
Die gleichzeitige Verabreichung von Sumatriptan Sandoz mit anderen spezifischen Migränemitteln (sogenannten Triptanen) wird nicht empfohlen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten wie Bluthochdruck oder Herzkrankheiten, Durchblutungsstörungen, Leber- und Nierenerkrankungen oder Epilepsie leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Wenn Sie unter Behandlung mit sogenannten Betablockern stehen, die auch zur Vorbeugung gegen Migräne eingesetzt werden, wird Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin Sumatriptan Sandoz mit besonderer Vorsicht verordnen.
Die Kopfschmerzen können sich verschlimmern, falls Sie zu häufig Sumatriptan Sandoz anwenden. Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird in diesem Fall möglicherweise die Behandlung mit Sumatriptan Sandoz absetzen.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen!
Als Folge der Migräne oder der Behandlung mit Sumatriptan kann auch Schläfrigkeit auftreten. Vorsicht ist deshalb geboten, wenn Sie während der Behandlung ein Fahrzeug lenken oder Maschinen bedienen.
Wenn Sie schwanger sind oder es werden möchten, dürfen Sie Sumatriptan Sandoz nicht einnehmen, es sei denn, dies ist klar notwendig.
Der Wirkstoff von Sumatriptan Sandoz geht in kleinen Mengen in die Muttermilch über. Säuglinge können vor einer Einwirkung geschützt werden, indem während 12 Stunden nach Einnahme von Sumatriptan Sandoz auf das Stillen verzichtet und die Milch abgepumpt wird.
Falls der Arzt oder die Ärztin nicht anders verordnet, gelten folgende Dosierungsrichtlinien:
Bei den ersten Anzeichen von Migränekopfschmerzen oder auch während des Anfalles ist ½ Sumatriptan Sandoz Tablette (25 mg) einzunehmen.
Bei ungenügender Wirksamkeit der 25 mg Dosis wird Ihnen der Arzt oder die Ärztin die Einnahme einer ganzen Sumatriptan Sandoz Tablette (50 mg) verordnen. Nur wenn die bereits abgeklungenen Migränesymptome wieder auftreten, können weitere Sumatriptan Sandoz Tabletten eingenommen werden, vorausgesetzt, dass zwischen den Dosen ein zeitlicher Abstand von mindestens 2 Stunden eingehalten wird.
Innerhalb von 24 Stunden dürfen jedoch nicht mehr als 200 mg (d.h. 4 Tabletten zu 50 mg) eingenommen werden.
Falls die erste Dosis keine Wirkung gezeigt hat, sollten Sie für denselben Migräneanfall keine weiteren Sumatriptan Sandoz Dosen verwenden, sondern den Anfall mit den gewohnten Schmerzmitteln weiterbehandeln, sofern diese kein Ergotamin oder Dihydroergotamin enthalten. Sumatriptan Sandoz kann für die folgenden Migräneanfälle wieder verwendet werden.
Die Sumatriptan Sandoz Tabletten werden ganz mit etwas Wasser geschluckt.
Sumatriptan Sandoz Tabletten sollen nicht bei Kindern oder Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren und bei Erwachsenen über 65 Jahren angewendet werden, da noch zu wenig Erfahrungen vorliegen bzw. die Wirksamkeit in dieser Altersgruppe nicht nachgewiesen werden konnte.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Sumatriptan Sandoz auftreten:
Häufig (bei weniger als 1 von 10 aber mehr als 1 von 100 Behandelten): Schwindel, Benommenheit, Kribbeln, vorübergehender Blutdruckanstieg, Gesichtsrötung, Kurzatmigkeit, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Schmerzen, Schwäche, Müdigkeit, Hitze-, Kälte-, Druck-, Enge- und Schweregefühl an verschiedenen Körperteilen (einschliesslich Brust und Hals).
Sehr selten (bei weniger als 1 von 10?000 Behandelten einschliesslich Einzelfälle): Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen aller Schweregrade (z.B. Hautausschlag, Luftnot bis zum Schock, der lebensbedrohlich sein kann), Krampfanfälle, Zittern, Dystonie (langsame, unwillkürliche Steigerung der Muskelanspannung mit abnormen Bewegungen und Haltungen), Augenzittern (Nystagmus), Gesichtsfeldausfälle (Skotomen), Sehstörungen wie Flimmern, Doppeltsehen, vermindertes Sehvermögen oder Sehverlust (unabhängig davon können Sehstörungen aber auch als Begleiterscheinung der Migräne selbst auftreten), Verlangsamung oder Beschleunigung des Herzschlages, Herzklopfen, Herzrhythmusstörungen, Durchblutungsstörungen des Herzens, Verkrampfungen der Herzkranzgefässe, Herzinfarkt, Blutdruckabfall, mangelnde Durchblutung der Extremitäten (Raynaud-Syndrom), Entzündung eines Dickdarmabschnittes aufgrund mangelnder Durchblutung (ischämische Kolitis), geringfügige Veränderungen der Leberwerte.
Sollten Schwierigkeiten mit dem Blutdruck oder Schmerzen in der Brust auftreten, wenden Sie sich bitte unverzüglich an Ihren Arzt oder an Ihre Ärztin.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
