Chlorhexidin im Plak-Out Spray unterstützt die Mundhygiene durch Hemmung der Entstehung bakterieller Zahnbeläge. Übermässige Plaquebildung ist nicht nur unhygienisch, die Bakterienbeläge können auch entzündetes, blutendes, gerötetes und schmerzhaftes Zahnfleisch verursachen. Eine mangelhafte oder erschwerte mechanische Mundhygiene führt zu Bakterienablagerungen auf den Zahnoberflächen. Der antiseptische Wirkstoff Chlorhexidin besitzt eine abtötende Wirkung auf Bakterien und Pilze.
Plak-Out Spray ist angezeigt zur Behandlung von lokalen Verletzungen der Mundschleimhaut wie Aphten, Druckstellen, lokal begrenzten Entzündungen, zahnärztlichen Operations- und Extraktionswunden. Plak-Out Spray kann auch als Ergänzung zur Spüllösung angewendet werden.
Die Anwendung von Plak-Out Spray ersetzt nicht die mechanische Zahnreinigung, kann sie jedoch unterstützen.
Plak-Out Spray enthält Chlorhexidin, das in sehr seltenen Fällen Allergien auslöst. Typische Zeichen sind Juckreiz, allgemeine Hautrötung, Nesselfieber, Asthma oder vereinzelt Kreislaufreaktionen. Sie erfordern umgehend ärztliche Behandlung. Bei bekannter Chlorhexidin-Allergie sowie bei Überempfindlichkeit gegen einen der Inhaltsstoffe dürfen Sie Plak-Out Spray nicht anwenden.
Ein unbeabsichtigtes Verschlucken des Sprays ist harmlos. Der Chlorhexidin-Spray ist nicht mit Zahnpasten oder anderen Spülmitteln zu kombinieren, weil sonst deren Wirksamkeit abnehmen kann.
Es wird empfohlen, bei Vorliegen tiefer Wurzelhautentzündung das Präparat mit Vorsicht anzuwenden.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben, andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Plak-Out Spray darf während der Schwangerschaft oder Stillzeit nicht angewendet werden, es sei denn auf ärztliche Verschreibung.
Falls vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet:
? Bei lokalen Verletzungen der Mundschleimhaut wie Aphte, Druckstellen, lokal begrenzten Entzündungen: zwei- bis dreimal täglich 1 gezielter Pumpstoss auf die zu behandelnde Stelle sprayen, danach weder spucken noch spülen.
? Zur Behandlung zahnärztlicher Operations- und Extraktionswunden: zwei- bis dreimal täglich 1 gezielter Pumpstoss auf die zu behandelnde Wunde sprayen, danach weder spucken noch spülen.
? Zur lokalen Desinfektion von Implantatpfeilern, Prothesenankern und festsitzendem Zahnersatz: zwei- bis dreimal täglich, im Anschluss an die reguläre Mundhygiene, 2 Pumpstösse, auf die zu desinfizierende Stelle sprayen, danach weder spucken noch spülen.
? Als Ergänzung zur Spüllösung bei übermässiger Plaquebildung: zwei- bis dreimal täglich, im Zusammenhang mit der Spülung, 1 gezielter Pumpstoss auf die zusätzlich zu desinfizierende Stelle sprayen, danach weder spucken noch spülen.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Plak-Out Spray wurde bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren nicht geprüft. Das Präparat soll bei Kindern nur auf ärztliche oder zahnärztliche Verordnung angewendet werden.
Plak-Out Spray sollte ohne ärztliche oder zahnärztliche Empfehlung nicht länger als 2 Wochen ohne Unterbruch angewendet werden.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Plak-Out Spray auftreten:
Gelegentlich treten Geschmacksstörungen nach der Chlorhexidin-Anwendung auf. Häufig sind auch Braunfärbungen der Zunge beobachtbar. Sie sind ungefährlich und nur ein kosmetisches Problem.
Bei langfristiger Anwendung kommt es häufig zu Zahnverfärbungen, welche sich in den meisten Fällen nach der Anwendung des Präparates zurückbilden. Allmählich sich bildende gelb-bräunliche Ablagerungen in den Zahnzwischenräumen sind durch den Zahnarzt bzw. die Zahnärztin oder die Zahnhygienikerin leicht entfernbar.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Plak-Out Spray enthält Alkohol.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Das Arzneimittel ist ausser Reichweite von Kindern und bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) zu lagern.
