    +-Was ist Latuda und wann wird es angewendet?

    Latuda enthält als Wirkstoff Lurasidonhydrochlorid und dient zur Behandlung der Schizophrenie. Auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin wird Latuda zur Behandlung von Schizophrenie, einer Erkrankung, die zu den als Pychosen bezeichneten Krankheiten gehört. Dabei handelt es sich um Störungen der Gehirnfunktion, die das Denken, Empfinden und/oder Handeln betreffen. Typische Symptome sind z.B. Verwirrung, Halluzinationen, Wahrnehmungsstörungen (z.B. Hören der Stimme einer Person, die gar nicht anwesend ist), Wahnvorstellungen, Entfremdung von der Gesellschaft und übermässig starke Introvertiertheit, sowie Angst und Spannung.

    +-Wann darf Latuda nicht eingenommen werden?

    Latuda darf bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit auf den Wirkstoff Lurasidonhydrochlorid oder einen der Hilfsstoffe nicht angewendet werden. Eine Überempfindlichkeit kann sich z.B. als Hautausschlag, der mit Juckreiz, Schwellungen, Blasenbildung oder roten Flecken auf der Haut verbunden sein könnte, oder  in Form von Kurzatmigkeit oder geschwollenem Gesicht äussern. Sollten Sie ein solches Symptom bemerken, so kontaktieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin.

    Benachrichtigen Sie vorher Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, falls Sie andere Arzneimittel einnehmen müssen. Gewisse Arzneimittel können den Abbau von Latuda beeinflussen. Es handelt sich in der Regel um Mittel gegen Infektionen, z.B. mit den Wirkstoffen Ketoconazol oder Rifampicin. Diese dürfen nicht mit Latuda eingenommen werden, sonst kann dies zu viel höheren oder tieferen Konzentrationen des Arzneimittels im Körper führen als erwünscht.

    +-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Latuda Vorsicht geboten?

    Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen! Deshalb ist beim Bedienen gefährlicher Maschinen einschliesslich motorisierter Fahrzeuge Vorsicht geboten, bis Sie nach vernünftigem Ermessen und Absprache mit dem Arzt/der Ärztin sicher sein können, dass die Therapie mit Latuda keine ungünstigen Auswirkungen auf Sie hat.

    Latuda ist zur Therapie von psychischen Problemen bei Patienten mit Demenz (wie der Alzheimer-Krankheit) nicht indiziert.

    Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ärztin, wenn Sie derzeit an einer der folgenden Erkrankungen leiden oder früher einmal daran gelitten haben:

    • Nieren- oder Leberfunktionsstörung
    • Diabetes
    • Hohes Cholesterin oder hohe Blutfette
    • Bluthochdruck
    • Übergewicht
    • Hormonabhängiger Tumor
    • (Arzneimittelinduzierter) Mangel an weissen Blutzellen
    • Herz- und Gefässerkrankungen mit niedrigem Blutdruck
    • Krampfanfälle

    Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ärztin ebenfalls, wenn Sie anticholinerge Arzneimittel (z.B. L-Dopa, ein Parkinsonmittel) einnehmen müssen.

    Suchen Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin auf, wenn während der Behandlung mit Latuda eines oder mehrere der folgenden Symptome auftreten:

    • Plötzlich veränderter Geisteszustand
    • Tieferer Blutdruck bzw., Malaise beim plötzlichen Aufstehen wie Unwohlsein, Schwindel oder Ohnmacht
    • Einseitige Körperschwäche oder Taubheit des Gesichtes, der Arme und Beine
    • Sprach- oder Sehstörungen
    • Extremes Fieber (>41 °C), Muskelstarre. (Dies können Zeichen des schweren sogenannten «malignen neuroleptischen Syndroms» sein, welches eine sofortige ärztliche Behandlung erfordert.)
    • Unregelmässiger Puls und Herzrasen
    • Schweissausbrüche
    • Verfärbung des Urins
    • Kopfschmerzen
    • Übelkeit
    • Erbrechen
    • Ungewollte und gestörte Bewegungsabläufe
    • Anfälligkeit auf Infektionen oder nicht abgeklärte Infektionen bzw. hohes Fieber. (Dies kann durch eine Senkung der Anzahl an Bluteiweisszellen hervorgerufen werden und erfordert eine sofortige ärztliche Abklärung.)
    • Erhöhte Körpertemperatur durch anstrengendes Training, übermässige Hitzeexposition und Dehydratation
    • Suizidale Gedanken
    • Schluckschwierigkeiten
    • Husten, Atemnot und Atemschwierigkeiten
    • Schwerer blasenbildender Hautausschlag, der Mund, Augen und die Geschlechtsorgane befallen kann (genannt Stevens-Johnson Syndrom). Die Häufigkeit des Auftretens ist unbekannt. Dieser Hautausschlag, kann mit Juckreiz, Schwellungen, Blasenbildung oder roten Flecken auf der Haut verbunden sein.

    Informieren Sie auch Ihren Arzt/Ihre Ärztin, falls Sie Antipsychotika in der Vergangenheit eingenommen haben und solche unerwünschten Wirkungen erlebt haben.

    Bei Alkoholkonsum ist Vorsicht geboten.

    Trinken Sie keinen Grapefruitsaft, wenn Sie Latuda einnehmen. Grapefruitsaft kann die Wirksamkeit des Arzneimittels beeinflussen.

    Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie:

    • an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
    • Allergien haben oder
    • andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden! Dies betrifft insbesondere Arzneimittel gegen Parkinson, Blasenschwäche sowie krampfartige Schmerzen oder Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von hohem Blutdruck.
    +-Darf Latuda während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

    Es liegen keine kontrollierten Studien über die Anwendung von Latuda bei der Schwangerschaft oder Stillzeit vor. Deshalb darf Latuda nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin während der Schwangerschaft eingenommen werden. Sprechen Sie deshalb bitte vor der Latuda-Behandlung mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, falls Sie schwanger sind, eine Schwangerschaft planen oder stillen.

    +-Wie verwenden Sie Latuda?

    Der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin wird für Sie die zutreffende Dosierung festlegen. Es ist sehr wichtig, dass Sie Latuda so einnehmen, wie es Ihnen verschrieben wurde. Die empfohlene Anfangsdosis beträgt einmal täglich eine Filmtablette zu 40 mg. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin kann die Dosis bei Bedarf erhöhen. Bei Patienten mit moderater oder starker Nieren- bzw. Leberfunktionsstörung wird eine Dosisanpassung empfohlen.

    Am besten nehmen Sie Latuda immer zur gleichen Zeit, z.B. mittags, zu einer Mahlzeit (mindestens 350 Kalorien) ein.

    Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Latuda bei Kindern und Jugendlichen sind bisher nicht geprüft worden.

    Wenn Sie mehr als die vorgeschriebene Dosis eingenommen haben, kontaktieren Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

    Wenn Sie eine Einnahme von Latuda vergessen haben, holen Sie dies nach, sobald Sie das Versäumnis bemerken, es sei denn, die nächste Dosis steht bereits an. In diesem Fall lassen Sie die versäumte Einnahme aus und wenden die nächste Dosis wie vorgesehen an. Setzen Sie die Behandlung planmässig fort. Wenden Sie nicht die doppelte Dosis an, wenn Sie die vorherige Anwendung vergessen haben.

    Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

    +-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Latuda haben?

    Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Latuda auftreten:

    Die häufigsten Nebenwirkungen sind: Schläfrigkeit, Akathisie (Unvermögen, ruhig zu sitzen), Übelkeit, Parkinsonismus (Gefühl der Steifheit, Zittern in Ruhe, schlurfender Gang, ausdrucksloses Gesicht) und gesteigerte Erregbarkeit.

    Häufig ist ausserdem von Angst, Schlaflosigkeit, Unruhe, Schwindel, gestörter Steuerung der Muskelfunktion, wie z.B. unwillkürliches Anspannen einzelner Muskeln (Dystonie), Rückenschmerzen, Herzrasen, Bauchschmerzen, Durchfall, Oberbauchbeschwerden, Erbrechen, erhöhtem Speichelfluss, Verschwommensehen, vermindertem Appetit, Hautausschlag und Juckreiz berichtet worden.

    Gelegentlich treten Blutarmut, abnormale Träume, Panikattacken, Schlafstörungen, unwillkürliche Bewegungen, hauptsächlich des Gesichts oder der Zunge (Spätdyskinesien), Schlaganfall, Sprachstörungen, Drehschwindel, Herzrhythmusstörungen, Herzschmerzen, langsamer Herzschlag, Bluthochdruck, erniedrigter Blutdruck u.a. beim plötzlichen Aufstehen, bis zur Ohnmacht, Bewusstlosigkeit, Magenschleimhautentzündung, Schluckstörungen, Schwierigkeiten und/oder Schmerzen bei der Blasenentleerung, Ausbleiben der Regel und Menstruationsbeschwerden.

    Selten können plötzlicher Tod, Nierenversagen, eine Verminderung der weissen Blutzellen (was zu Infektionen führen kann), das sogenannte «maligne neuroleptische Syndrom» (extremes Fieber mit Muskelstarre), Muskelabbau, Krampfanfälle, Schwellung der Haut und Schleimhäute, Vergrösserung und Schmerzen der Brust, Milchfluss, Erektionsstörungen und Suizidgedanken auftreten.

    Symptome wie Schwellungen des Rachens, der Zunge oder der Haut (Nesselsucht) können auftreten, wobei deren Häufigkeit unbekannt ist.

    Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

    +-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

    Bewahren Sie Latuda ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern und bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) auf.

    Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
