Ciloxan Augentropfen enthalten den Wirkstoff Ciprofloxacin (ein Antibiotikum), der gegen zahlreiche Bakterien wirkt, welche Infektionen am Auge verursachen können. Ciloxan Augentropfen werden zur Behandlung bakterieller Bindehaut- und Lidrandentzündungen sowie bakteriell bedingter Hornhautgeschwüre (Ulcus Corneae) eingesetzt und dürfen nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Dieses Arzneimittel wurde Ihnen von Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin zur Behandlung Ihrer gegenwärtigen Augenbeschwerden verschrieben. Das in Ciloxan Augentropfen enthaltene Antibiotikum ist nicht gegen alle Mikroorganismen wirksam, welche Augeninfektionen hervorrufen können. Die Anwendung eines falsch gewählten oder nicht richtig dosierten Antibiotikums kann Komplikationen verursachen. Daher Ciloxan Augentropfen nie von sich aus für die Behandlung anderer Erkrankungen oder anderer Personen anwenden. Auch bei späteren neuen Infektionen am Auge das Arzneimittel nicht ohne erneute ärztliche Konsultation anwenden.
Ciloxan Augentropfen sind ausschliesslich zur äusseren Anwendung am Auge bestimmt und dürfen daher nicht eingenommen werden.
Während der Therapie mit Ciloxan Augentropfen keine Kontaktlinsen tragen.
Bei einer bekannten oder vermuteten Überempfindlichkeit (Allergie) auf einen Inhaltsstoff von Ciloxan Augentropfen (z.B. Ciprofloxacin) oder auf andere verwandte Antibiotika (Chinolone).
Wenn sich die mit Ciloxan Augentropfen behandelten Augenbeschwerden nach 2-3 Behandlungstagen verschlechtern oder wenn neue Symptome auftreten, unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin konsultieren.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben und/oder wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder am Auge anwenden.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fähigkeit Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen und die Fahrtüchtigkeit beeinträchtigen.
Während der Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit das Arzneimittel nur nach ausdrücklicher Anweisung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin anwenden.
Der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin legt die Dosierung fest. In der Regel wird folgendes Dosierungsschema angewendet:
1.-2. Tag: während des Tages alle 2 Stunden 1-2 Tropfen ins entzündete Auge träufeln.
Dann: alle 4 Stunden 1-2 Tropfen ins entzündete Auge einträufeln, bis die bakterielle Entzündung vorbei ist.
Ciloxan muss in folgenden Zeitabständen, auch während der Nacht, angewendet werden:
1. Tag: in den ersten 6 Stunden alle 15 Minuten 2 Tropfen, dann alle 30 Minuten 2 Tropfen ins entzündete Auge einträufeln.
2. Tag: stündlich 2 Tropfen ins entzündete Augen einträufeln.
3.-14. Tag: alle 4 Stunden 2 Tropfen ins entzündete Auge einträufeln.
Eine begonnene Antibiotika-Behandlung muss so lange wie vom Arzt oder von der Ärztin verordnet durchgeführt werden. Die Krankheitssymptome können verschwinden, bevor die Infektion vollständig ausgeheilt ist. Eine ungenügende Anwendungsdauer des Arzneimittels oder ein zu frühes Beenden der Behandlung kann ein erneutes Auftreten der Erkrankung zur Folge haben.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Ciloxan Augentropfen auftreten:
Häufig können am Auge folgende Nebenwirkungen auftreten: Brennen, Rötung, Juckreiz, Stechen, vermindertes Sehvermögen bzw. Sehstörungen, Lidrandverkrustung, Fremdkörpergefühl.
Gelegentlich können am Auge folgende Nebenwirkungen auftreten: Entzündungen, Tränenfluss, Lidschwellung, Lichtscheu, Hornhautinfiltrate, Hornhauttrübung, Verfärbung der Hornhaut, Überempfindlichkeits- oder Allergiereaktionen.
Ferner sind Geschmackempfindungsstörungen (metallischer Geschmack) und Dermatitis während des Einträufelns nicht auszuschliessen.
Häufig treten bei Patienten mit Hornhautgeschwüren bei Anwendung von Ciloxan Augentropfen weisse Ausfällungen am Auge auf, welche bei Fortführung der Therapie jedoch wieder verschwinden. In solchen Fällen sollte die Behandlung nicht abgebrochen werden. Auch wird dadurch der Behandlungsverlauf sowie das Sehvermögen nicht negativ beeinflusst. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie solche oder ähnliche Symptome beobachten.
In Augenpräparaten enthaltene Wirkstoffe können in den Blutkreislauf gelangen. Nebenwirkungen können deshalb ausser am Auge auch an anderen Stellen des Körpers auftreten (z.B. gelegentlich Übelkeit und in sehr seltenen Fällen allergieähnliche Wirkungen wie Blausucht, Atemprobleme, Schwellungen und/oder Hautrötungen).
Wenn solche oder weitere Nebenwirkungen auftreten, bei denen Sie einen Zusammenhang mit der Anwendung von Ciloxan Augentropfen vermuten, bitte unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin konsultieren.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Um eine mögliche mikrobielle Verunreinigung (Kontamination) der Augentropfen zu vermeiden, die Tropferspitze der Flasche weder mit Ihren Händen noch mit den Augen berühren. Flasche nach Gebrauch sofort gut verschliessen und immer gut verschlossen halten.
Nur bis zum Verfalldatum (siehe Packung «Verwendbar bis») anwenden. Nach Anbruch der Flasche nicht länger als 30 Tage verwenden.
Flasche bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) aufbewahren, vor möglicher Wärme- und Lichteinwirkung geschützt und ausser Reichweite von Kindern. Nicht im Kühlschrank lagern. Nicht einfrieren.
Sollten Sie eine zu grosse Menge Ciloxan Augentropfen ins Auge geträufelt haben, die überschüssige Lösung mit lauwarmem Wasser ausspülen.
Nach Beendigung der Behandlung jegliche Restflüssigkeit Ihrer Abgabestelle (Arzt/Ärztin oder Apotheke) zur fachgerechten Entsorgung bringen.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
