Venoruton-Gel enthält O-(?-Hydroxyäthyl)-rutosid, das zur Normalisierung der Funktion der kleinsten Blutgefässe (Kapillaren) beiträgt. Dank seiner Wirkungen vermindert es die Anschwellungen der Knöchel und lindert gleichzeitig auch andere Symptome (Schmerzen, Schweregefühl), die mit Krampfadern einhergehen oder auf eine Verletzung (Verstauchungen, Verrenkungen, Muskelquetschungen) zurückzuführen sind.
Venoruton-Gel ist ein alkoholfreies, geruchloses Präparat, das nicht fettet.
Um die Symptome von Krampfadern zu lindern, empfiehlt es sich, die Beine im Verlaufe des Tages so oft wie möglich hochzulagern und das Fussende des Bettes etwas anzuheben. Das Tragen von elastischen Stützen (meist Strümpfe) ist ebenfalls zu empfehlen.
Wenn Sie auf den Wirkstoff O-(?-Hydroxyäthyl)-rutosid oder auf ähnliche Stoffe empfindlich sind, dürfen Sie Venoruton-Gel nicht anwenden. Während der ersten drei Monate der Schwangerschaft dürfen Sie Venoruton-Gel nicht anwenden. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin weiss, was in solchen Fällen zu tun ist.
Nur auf intakter Haut, nicht auf Schleimhäuten anwenden. Bei Venenerkrankungen, die auf das Vorliegen eines Blutpfropfes (sogenannte Thromboembolie) zurückgehen, darf nicht massiert werden.
Bei längerem Fortbestehen oder bei Verschlechterung der Symptome ist ein Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin aufzusuchen. Venoruton-Gel enthält als Konservierungsmittel Benzalkoniumchlorid; diese Substanz ist reizend und kann Hautreaktionen hervorrufen.
Bevor Sie Venoruton-Gel anwenden, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren, wenn Sie, an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben, insbesondere gegen andere Arzneimittel oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
In der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit sollten Sie Venoruton- Gel nur nach Rücksprache mit dem Arzt/der Ärztin anwenden. Während der ersten drei Monate der Schwangerschaft sollen Sie Venoruton-Gel nicht anwenden. Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt/Ihrer Ärztin, wenn Sie schwanger sind, es werden möchten oder stillen.
Tragen Sie das Gel morgens und abends auf die zu behandelnden Stellen auf. Massieren Sie es leicht ein, bis die Haut trocken ist.
Falls erforderlich, kann Venoruton-Gel auch unter Verbänden oder elastischen Strümpfen verwendet werden.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Venoruton-Gel bei Kindern und Jugendlichen ist bisher nicht geprüft worden.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung.
Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei Venoruton-Gel auftreten:
Hautausschlag, Juckreiz, Nesselfieber, allergische Reaktionen.
In diesem Fall ist die Anwendung zu beenden.
Medizinisch wirksame Produkte können bestimmte Nebenwirkungen haben. Venoruton-Gel wird im Allgemeinen gut vertragen. Es sind vereinzelte Fälle einer Sensibilisierung mit Hautreaktionen gemeldet worden. Diese Symptome klingen nach der Unterbrechung der Behandlung rasch ab. Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Das Arzneimittel soll für Kinder unerreichbar und bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) aufbewahrt werden.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
