Tussanil-N Suppositorien enthalten Noscapin, ein nicht-narkotisches Antitussivum. Seine Wirksamkeit entspricht derjenigen des Codeins ohne dessen verschiedene Nachteile. Es bekämpft den trockenen Husten, dämpft aber das Atemzentrum nicht.
Tussanil-N Suppositorien werden zur Beruhigung des Hustens bei Erkältungen und des Reizhustens bei Erkältungen angewendet. Auf Rat des Arztes oder Apothekers kann Tussanil-N bei akutem oder chronischem Reizhusten verschiedenen Ursprungs verwendet werden: Husten als Begleiterscheinung infektiöser oder allergischer Entzuendungen der Atemwege (Bronchitis, Laryngitis, Tracheitis, Pharyngitis, Sinusitis), keuchhustenaehnliche Befallsformen, postoperativer Husten, Asthmatikerhusten.
Tussanil-N gibt es in drei Dosierungen: Erwachsene, Kinder und Kleinkinder.
Tabakkonsum trägt zur Entstehung und zum Anhalten des Hustens bei. Sie können die Wirkung von Tussanil-N unterstützen, wenn Sie auf das Rauchen verzichten.
Tussanil-N soll während der Schwangerschaft, bei Atemwegserkrankungen mit starker Schleimbildung oder bei einer bekannten Überempfindlichkeit auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe nicht angewendet werden.
Bei Kindern unter 2 Jahren darf Tussanil-N nur auf ärztliche Verordnung verwendet werden. Falls der Husten über 7 Tage dauert, fragen Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker um Rat, damit eine Krankheit, die eine spezifische Behandlung erfordert, ausgeschlossen werden kann.
Die gleichzeitige Anwendung von Tussanil-N mit schleimlösenden Mitteln (Expektorantien, Mukolytika) ist zu vermeiden, weil sonst das Risiko eines Sekretsstaus besteht, wodurch das Auftreten eines Bronchialkrampfes (Bronchialspasmus) und einer Atemwegsinfektion begünstigt wird.
Ausserdem sollten Sie vorsichtshalber keine Medikamente gleichzeitig mit Tussanil-N einnehmen, die auf das Gehirn wirken, wie z.B. gewisse Medikamente gegen Husten oder gegen Angstzustände, Depressionen, Schlafstörungen oder Schmerzen.
Ihr Arzt weiss, was in solchen Fällen zu tun ist.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an andern Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Medikamente (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat fragen.
Wenn vom Arzt nicht anders verordnet, 3?4 mal täglich 1 Suppositorium (pro 24 Stunden nicht mehr als 5 Suppositorien verwenden):
Erwachsene und Kinder ab 12 Jahren: 1 Suppositorium für Erwachsene.
Kinder von 6?12 Jahren: 1 Suppositorium für Kinder.
Kinder von 2?6 Jahren: 1 Suppositorium für Kleinkinder.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Falls Sie einmal eine Dosis vergessen, können Sie mit der Behandlung ohne Änderung weiterfahren. Bei starker Überdosierung müssen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin aufsuchen.
Wenn Sie glauben das Medikament wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Tussanil-N auftreten: Kopfschmerzen, Schwindelgefühl, Übelkeit und Exantheme.
Es gibt kein Risiko einer Abhängigkeit oder Schläfrigkeit. Die Suppositorien reizen die rektale Schleimhaut nicht. Bei einer massiven Überdosierung kann man eine Sedierung und gastrointestinale Störungen feststellen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Medikamente für Kinder unerreichbar, bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) und vor Licht geschützt, aufbewahren. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf der Packung mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Verfallene Medikamente sind in die Apotheke zurückzubringen.
