Spersapolymyxin Augentropfen enthalten zwei sich ergänzende Antibiotika. Durch Spersapolymyxin werden bei bakterienbedingten Augeninfektionen die Keime abgetötet und damit die Heilung gefördert.
Spersapolymyxin darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Die Antibiotika in Spersapolymyxin wirken nicht gegen alle Infektionen am Auge. Die Anwendung eines falsch gewählten oder nicht richtig dosierten Antibiotikums kann Komplikationen verursachen. Verwenden Sie es daher nicht für die Behandlung anderer Erkrankungen oder von Drittpersonen.
Falls Sie gleichzeitig mit Spersapolymyxin noch andere Arzneimittel am Auge anwenden müssen, sollten Sie dies mit dem behandelnden Arzt bzw. Ärztin besprechen, damit ein optimaler Zeitplan für die einzelnen Anwendungen aufgestellt werden kann.
Hinweis für Kontaktlinsenträger
Auf das Tragen von Kontaktlinsen während der Behandlung mit Spersapolymyxin ist wegen einer möglichen Verschleppung von Keimen zu verzichten. Das in Spersapolymyxin enthaltene Konservierungsmittel Benzalkoniumchlorid kann Augenirritationen verursachen und kann sich in weichen Kontaktlinsen akkumulieren.
Wenn Sie auf einen der Wirkstoffe oder auf einen Hilfsstoff von Spersapolymyxin allergisch sind.
Wenn sich die mit Spersapolymyxin behandelten Augenbeschwerden nach 2-3 Behandlungstagen verschlechtern oder neue Symptome auftreten, sollten Sie sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin konsultieren.
Direkt nach der Anwendung von Spersapolymyxin kann es kurzfristig zu verschwommenem Sehen kommen. Nehmen Sie nicht am Strassenverkehr teil oder bedienen Sie keine Maschinen, bevor diese Beeinträchtigung abgeklungen ist.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie
- an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
- Allergien haben oder
- andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder am Auge anwenden.
Anwendung während Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit nur mit ausdrücklicher Genehmigung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin!
Bei akuten schweren Infektionen anfangs alle 15-30 Minuten, bei leichteren alle 1-2 Stunden 1 Tropfen bis zum sichtbaren Abklingen der Entzündungszeichen. Zur weiteren Behandlung 2-3 mal täglich 1 Tropfen in den Bindehautsack des Auges geben. Mit einer Hand das Tropffläschchen bei nach hinten geneigtem Kopf möglichst senkrecht über das Auge halten, mit der anderen Hand das Unterlid leicht nach unten ziehen und durch Druck auf das Fläschchen einen Tropfen in die nasenwärts gelegene Hälfte des Bindehautsackes fallen lassen (das Auge wenn möglich mit dem Tropfansatz nicht berühren).
Halten Sie sich an die vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Spersapolymyxin auftreten:
Gelegentlich kann leichtes, vorübergehendes Brennen direkt nach der Anwendung auftreten. Falls Sie irgendein Krankheitszeichen (z.B. Rötung, Schwellung, Juckreiz oder Fremdkörpergefühl) beobachten, das Sie auf den Gebrauch dieses Arzneimittels zurückführen, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin davon in Kenntnis setzen.
Wirkstoffe in Augenpräparaten können in den Blutkreislauf gelangen. Nebenwirkungen sind deshalb auch im Körper möglich. Falls weitere Nebenwirkungen auftreten, bei denen Sie einen Zusammenhang mit der Anwendung von Spersapolymyxin vermuten, sollten Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin konsultieren.

Um die Sterilität der Augentropfen zu erhalten, Tropferspitze weder mit den Händen noch mit dem Auge berühren.

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
