Navoban dient zur Vorbeugung von Übelkeit und Erbrechen, die durch eine Chemotherapie verursacht werden.
Navoban wirkt während 24 Stunden. Es wird deshalb einmal pro Tag verabreicht.
Navoban darf nicht zur Behandlung von Brechreiz und Erbrechen verwendet werden, die aus einem anderen als dem oben erwähnten Grund auftreten.
Navoban darf in der Schwangerschaft nicht angewendet werden.
Navoban darf nicht angewendet werden, wenn eine Überempfindlichkeit (Allergie) auf Tropisetron (Wirkstoff), ähnliche Arzneimittel oder auf einen Hilfsstoff vorliegt.
Falls Sie denken, Sie könnten allergisch oder schwanger sein, sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen. Da Navoban Müdigkeit und Schwindel verursachen kann, ist beim Autofahren oder Bedienen von Maschinen Vorsicht geboten.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie
? an anderen Krankheiten (insbesondere unkontrollierter Bluthochdruck oder Herzprobleme) leiden,
? Allergien haben oder
? andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Dies gilt besonders, wenn Sie Arzneimittel verwenden, welche Rifampicin oder Phenobarbital enthalten.
Im Falle von Überdosierung, d.h. bei wiederholter Einnahme sehr hoher Dosen, wurden Halluzinationen und bei Patienten mit bestehendem Bluthochdruck weitere Blutdruckerhöhungen beobachtet. In diesem Fall dürfen Sie Navoban nicht weiter einnehmen und müssen sich sofort mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin in Verbindung setzen.
Navoban darf während der Schwangerschaft nicht eingenommen werden.
Navoban sollte in der Stillzeit nicht eingenommen werden. Wenn Sie schwanger sind, es werden möchten oder ein Kind stillen, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin.
Erwachsene: Für die Dosierung und die Therapiedauer befolgen Sie sorgfältig die Vorschriften Ihres Arztes bzw. der Ärztin. Diese können von der Information in dieser Packungsbeilage abweichen. Die Tagesdosis beträgt 5 mg und wird im Allgemeinen wie folgt verabreicht:
Am ersten Tag erhalten Sie eine intravenöse Kurzinfusion oder eine Spritze von Navoban.
An den folgenden Tagen nehmen Sie in der Regel täglich eine Kapsel Navoban ein; schlucken Sie die Kapsel mit etwas Wasser, ohne sie zu zerbeissen, und zwar morgens beim Aufstehen, mindestens eine Stunde vor dem Frühstück.
Kinder ab 2 Jahren: Befolgen Sie die Vorschrift Ihres Arztes bzw. der Ärztin.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme oder Anwendung von Navoban auftreten:
Am häufigsten wurden beobachtet: Kopfschmerzen, Verstopfung, Schwindelgefühl, Müdigkeit und Magen-/Darmstörungen wie Bauchschmerzen und Durchfall. Einige dieser Symptome können auch durch die Grunderkrankung oder die zu deren Behandlung verwendeten Arzneimittel bedingt sein. Gelegentlich wurden Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen, juckender Hautausschlag, Erröten des Gesichts, Brustbeschwerden, plötzliche Ohnmacht, Atemnot mit Keuchen oder Husten und Schwindel, Hitzewallungen und Blutdruckabfall gemeldet. Sehr selten wurde über Schock, Kollaps, Herz-Kreislaufstillstand und Krampf der Bronchialmuskeln berichtet.
Falls Sie unter Bluthochdruck leiden und Ihr Blutdruck unter Navoban ungewohnt hoch ansteigt, oder falls Sie andere unerwünschte Wirkungen wahrnehmen, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin informieren.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Arzneimittel sollen für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahrt werden.
Das Arzneimittel soll nicht über 30 °C aufbewahrt werden.
Navoban darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
