Maxitrol ist ein Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von infizierten Augenentzündungen. Dieses Arzneimittel ist rezeptpflichtig und nur auf ärztliche Verschreibung anzuwenden.
Die in Maxitrol Augensalbe enthaltenen Antibiotika (Neomycin und Polymyxin-B-Sulfat) sind nicht gegen alle Erreger wirksam, die Augeninfektionen verursachen. Eine unkorrekte Anwendung des Arzneimittels kann unter Umständen Komplikationen verursachen. Verwenden Sie daher Maxitrol Augensalbe nie von sich aus zur Behandlung anderer Erkrankungen oder für Drittpersonen. Auch bei späteren neuen Infektionen am Auge dürfen Sie Maxitrol Augensalbe nur auf erneute ärztliche Verschreibung anwenden.
Während der gesamten Behandlungsdauer mit diesem Arzneimittel sind regelmässige Kontrollen Ihrer Augen durch den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin erforderlich.
Während der Behandlung mit Maxitrol Augensalbe dürfen Sie keine Kontaktlinsen tragen.
Bei bekannter oder vermuteter Überempfindlichkeit (Allergie) auf einen Inhaltsstoff von Maxitrol Augensalbe, bei verschiedenen Viruserkrankungen des Auges, bei gewissen bakteriellen Augeninfektionen, bei Pilzerkrankungen des Auges, bei Verletzungen und Geschwüren der Hornhaut sowie bei Neugeborenen.
Unmittelbar nach dem Auftragen von Augensalben kann verschwommenes Sehen auftreten. Daher für mindestens 20 Minuten nach der Anwendung des Arzneimittels keine Fahrzeuge lenken und keine Maschinen bedienen.
Wenn sich die mit Maxitrol Augensalbe behandelten Augenbeschwerden nach 2-3 Behandlungstagen verschlechtern oder wenn neue Symptome auftreten, sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin konsultieren.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten (insbesondere Diabetes) leiden, wenn Sie früher durch Viren (Herpes) oder Pilze verursachte Augeninfektionen hatten, wenn Sie Allergien haben oder wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen oder am Auge anwenden!
Anwendung während der Schwangerschaft und der Stillzeit nur mit ausdrücklicher Genehmigung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin.
Der Arzt legt die Dosierung fest. In der Regel soll bis zu 3-4 mal pro Tag ein kleiner Salbenstrang in den Bindehautsack des betroffenen Auges eingebracht werden.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Maxitrol Augensalbe auftreten:
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Um die Sterilität der Augensalbe nicht zu beeinträchtigen, Tubenspitze weder mit dem Auge noch mit den Händen berühren. Tube nach Gebrauch sofort gut verschliessen.
Nur bis zum Verfalldatum (siehe Packung: «EXP») anwenden. Inhalt nach Anbruch der Tube nicht länger als 30 Tage verwenden.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C), vor möglicher Wärme- und Lichteinwirkung geschützt und ausser Reichweite von Kindern.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
Bitte nach Beendigung der Behandlung jede Tube mit restlicher Augensalbe Ihrer Abgabestelle (Arztpraxis oder Apotheke) zur fachgerechten Entsorgung bringen.
