Locabiotal hat eine lokale antibakterielle und entzündungshemmende Wirkung.
Locabiotal wird zur Behandlung von Entzündungen und Infektionen des Nasen- und Rachenraums sowie der Atemwege eingesetzt: Nasenschleimhautentzündung, Nasennebenhöhlenentzündung, Rhinopharyngitis, Entzündung der Rachenschleimhaut, Angina (Tonsillitis), nach einer Mandeloperation (Tonsillektomie), Kehlkopfentzündung (Laryngitis).

Es wird nicht empfohlen, Locabiotal über einen längeren Zeitraum anzuwenden, da es das natürliche Gleichgewicht der Mikrobenflora verändern kann.
Die Indikation rechtfertigt keine Behandlung, die über 10 Tage hinausgeht.
Dieses Medikament enthält geringe Mengen Ethanol (Alkohol), weniger als 100 mg pro Dosis.

Während der Schwangerschaft und Stillperiode ist Locabiotal nur auf ausdrückliche Anordnung Ihres Arztes anzuwenden.

Als Anfangsbehandlung bzw. im Fall von starken Symptomen: 1 bis 2 Sprühstösse in den Mund bzw. in jedes Nasenloch alle 4 Stunden 4 Tage lang. Danach 1 Sprühstoss in den Mund bzw. in jedes Nasenloch alle 4 Stunden die folgenden Tage.
Die Behandlung dauert üblicherweise maximal 10 Tage.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Eine Packung Locabiotal enthält:
Betätigen Sie vor dem ersten Gebrauch den Sprühmechanismus mehrmals (5 Mal), um die Pumpe zu aktivieren. Die Sprühflasche ist nun anwendungsbereit.
Sprühen mit dem Nasenstück: Rhinopharyngitis, Nasenschleimhautentzündung, Nasennebenhöhlenentzündung.
Sprühen mit dem Mundstück: Angina, Entzündung der Rachenschleimhaut, Kehlkopfentzündung.
In sehr seltenen Fällen können allergische Reaktionen auftreten, besonders bei Patienten, die zu Allergien neigen und bei solchen, die schon einmal Bronchospasmen erlitten haben. Schwere allergische Reaktionen sind auch bei Kindern beobachtet worden.
Brechen Sie die Anwendung des Medikaments ab und sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, wenn Sie bei sich eine der folgenden sehr seltenen unerwünschten Wirkungen feststellen:
Die Anwendung von Locabiotal kann Nebenwirkungen hervorrufen. Dies sind hauptsächlich lokale Reaktionen, die am Verabreichungsort auftreten:
