Lacdigest ist ein Enzympräparat. Es enthält das für den Abbau von Lactose (Milchzucker) notwendige Enzym Tilactase. Die Einnahme von laktosehaltigen Nahrungsmitteln wie Milch, Käse, Butter und Joghurt, aber auch Saucen, Bouillon, Eiscremes und lactosehaltige Tabletten können zu Blähungen, Bauchschmerzen und Durchfall führen. Der Grund liegt in einer verminderten Aktivität des körpereigenen Enzymes, das Lactose normalerweise im Darm abbaut, damit die Spaltprodukte vom Körper aufgenommen werden können. Lacdigest ermöglicht den Abbau von Milchzucker im Magen-Darm-Trakt. Somit können lactosehaltige Nahrungsmittel auch von Patienten mit Lactoseunverträglichkeit verdaut werden.
Lacdigest ist bei Allergie auf Milcheiweisse nicht wirksam.
Bei bekannter Allergie auf Tilactase, die aus Aspergillus oryzae gewonnen wird, darf Lacdigest nicht angewendet werden. Altersgrenze für Kinder siehe «Wie verwenden Sie Lacdigest?».
Bei bestimmungsgemässem Gebrauch sind keine besonderen Vorsichtsmassnahmen zu befolgen. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker, bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Lacdigest ist nur im Magen-Darm-Trakt wirksam. Das Enzym wird nicht ins Blut aufgenommen. Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt.
Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, den Apotheker bzw. die Ärztin oder Apothekerin um Rat fragen.
Die Dosierung richtet sich nach der Schwere der bei Lactoseintoleranz auftretenden Symptome und nach der Menge der eingenommenen Lactose. Falls vom Arzt nicht anders verordnet, gelten folgende Richtlinien:
Kinder ab 3 Jahren und Erwachsene: 1 Kautablette pro 5 g Lactose, entsprechend 1 Kautablette pro 1 dl Milch. Falls die Symptome nicht vermindert werden, kann die Dosis erhöht werden.
Maximale Einzeldosis: 6 Kautabletten pro Mahlzeit
Maximale Tagesdosis: 12 Kautabletten pro Tag
Für die Anwendung von Lacdigest liegen keine Erfahrungen bei Kindern unter 3 Jahren vor. Die Kautabletten müssen unmittelbar vor der Einnahme einer lactosehaltigen Mahlzeit zerkaut eingenommen werden.
Sie können auch geschluckt werden. Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit IhremArzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Lacdigest auftreten: Allergische Reaktionen bei Überempfindlichkeit gegen das Enzym Tilactase, das aus dem Pilz Aspergillus oryzae gewonnen wird.
In diesem Falle sollte Lacdigest nicht weiter eingenommen werden. Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Lacdigest ist an einem trockenen Ort bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Sollten Sie Kautabletten besitzen, deren Haltbarkeit abgelaufen ist, so bringen Sie diese bitte in Ihre Apotheke zur Vernichtung zurück. Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
