elmex gelée ist ein Konzentrat zur lokalen Fluoridierung des Zahnschmelzes und zur Erhöhung der Kariesresistenz. elmex gelée enthält die karieshemmenden Aminfluoride. Es ist äusserlich auf der Zahnoberfläche anzuwenden. Seine Anwendung erfolgt nicht täglich, sondern in wöchentlichen Abständen.
elmex gelée ist geeignet zur Kariesprophylaxe bei hoher Kariesaktivität, bei empfindlichen Zahnhälsen sowie Schmelzentkalkungen unter abnehmbaren Schienen, partiellen Prothesen und orthodontischen Apparaten.
Zur Vermeidung von Vergiftungen durch Verschlucken sollte elmex gelée nicht verwendet werden, wenn der Schluckreflex nicht kontrolliert werden kann.
Bei Kindern unter 8 Jahren soll die Anwendung durch Eltern überwacht werden.
Wegen des Gehaltes an Pfefferminz-Aroma und Krauseminzöl sollten Patienten mit Asthma bronchiale oder anderen Atemwegserkrankungen vor der Anwendung von elmex gelée Rücksprache mit ihrem Arzt/Ärztin/Zahnarzt/Zahnärztin halten.
Nach Applikation von elmex gelée sollte eine systemische Fluoridzufuhr (z.B. durch Fluorid-Tabletten) für einige Tage ausgesetzt werden.
Inkompatibilitäten bestehen mit Tensiden (Seifenlösungen) und sämtlichen löslichen Calcium-, Magnesium- und Aluminiumsalzen.
Die unmittelbare Einnahme von Calcium, Magnesium (z.B. Milch) und Aluminium (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von Magenbeschwerden; Antacida) nach der Behandlung mit elmex gelée kann die Wirkung der Fluoride beeinträchtigen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Zahnarzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Zahnärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zur Anwendung von elmex gelée während der Schwangerschaft wurden nicht durchgeführt.
Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, Zahnarzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. die Ärztin, Zahnärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, um Rat fragen.
Falls nicht anders verordnet, in der häuslichen Zahnpflege:
Wöchentlich 1 mal die Zähne gründlich mit 1 cm elmex gelée bürsten. Nach 2 bis 3 Minuten ausspülen. Die Gesamtzeit der Anwendung (Putz- und Einwirkzeit) darf 5 Minuten nicht überschreiten.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder Zahnarzt, bzw. der Ärztin oder Zahnärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Wie alle Arzneimittel kann elmex gelée Nebenwirkungen haben, die aber nicht bei jedem auftreten müssen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Zahnarzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Zahnärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Nach Öffnen des Behältnisses ist das Arzneimittel 20 Monate bis höchstens zum Ablauf des Verfalldatums haltbar.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Nicht über 25 °C lagern.
elmex gelée ist ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren.
Rückstände im Lavabo immer entfernen.
