Geli Stop sind Tabletten zur Anwendung bei akutem Durchfall. Sie wirken schon kurze Zeit nach der Einnahme. Der Stuhldrang verschwindet, die Entleerungen folgen seltener, der Stuhl wird wieder konsistent. Die Wirkung von Geli Stop beruht einerseits auf dem Pectin aus Äpfeln und Quitten. Das Pectin ist wegen seiner Quellfähigkeit stark wasserbindend und deshalb stopfend. Es besitzt zudem ein hohes Aufnahmevermögen für Bakterien und giftig wirkende Stoffwechselprodukte. Tanninalbuminat ist eine reizlose Gerbsäureverbindung, die auf die Darmschleimhaut entzündungswidrig wirkt und daher ebenfalls stopft. Magnesiumperoxid wirkt durch den frei werdenden Sauerstoff hemmend auf Gärungsvorgänge. Die Kombination der drei Wirkstoffe ergibt zudem eine desinfizierende Wirkung.
Bei Durchfall von Kindern unter 3 Jahren muss ein Arzt, eine Ärztin konsultiert werden. Besonders bei älteren Menschen und Kindern muss zusätzlich auf eine ausreichende Flüssigkeits- und Elektrolytzufuhr geachtet werden.
Bei infektiösen, von Fieber begleiteten Durchfällen akuter und chronischer Art sowie bei Verdacht auf Blut im Stuhl, bei starker Übelkeit, Erbrechen und Schwindel ist unbedingt ein Arzt oder eine Ärztin zu konsultieren. Falls der Durchfall nicht in einem Tag behoben ist oder sich deutlich gebessert hat, ist ein Arzt oder eine Ärztin aufzusuchen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie
- an anderen Krankheiten leiden
- Allergien haben oder
- andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen
Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrung ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. die Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Erwachsene 1-2 Tabletten 3x täglich;
Kinder ab 6 Jahren 1 Tablette 1-2x täglich gut zerdrückt oder gekaut mit etwas Flüssigkeit einnehmen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Bis heute sind keine Nebenwirkungen von Geli Stop bekannt.
Wenn Sie trotzdem Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Ihren Apotheker oder Ihren Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
