DemoTussol ist ein Hustenmittel, das den Wirkstoff Butamirat enthält. DemoTussol lindert den Husten und den Hustenreiz bei Erkältungen. Auf ärztliche Verschreibung kann es auch für die Behandlung von akutem Husten anderer Ursache verwendet werden.
Rauchen trägt zur Entstehung von Husten bei («Raucherhusten»). Sie können die Wirkung von DemoTussol fördern, indem Sie auf das Rauchen verzichten.
Hinweis für Diabetiker: DemoTussol ist zuckerfrei; die Tropfen sind mit Sorbitol und Acesulfam gesüsst.
1 ml Tropflösung (= ca. 30 Tropfen) entspricht ca. 0,02 BW.
DemoTussol Tropfen dürfen an Kinder unter 2 Jahren nicht verabreicht werden.
DemoTussol dürfen Sie nicht anwenden, wenn Sie gegen den Wirkstoff Butamirat oder einen der Hilfsstoffe allergisch reagieren.
DemoTussol Tropfen dürfen Sie nicht anwenden, wenn Sie oder Ihr Kind an einer angeborenen Störung des Zuckerstoffwechsels (sogenannte Fructose-Intoleranz) leiden. Sie sind mit Sorbit gesüsst, aus welchem bei der Verdauung Fructose (Fruchtzucker) entsteht.
Bei Husten, der länger als 7 Tage anhält, muss ein Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin konsultiert werden, um die Ursache des Hustens abzuklären.
Bei einem Husten mit starker Schleimabsonderung oder Auswurf sollten Sie anstelle von DemoTussol eher schleimlösende Mittel (Expektorantien) anwenden. Die durch DemoTussol bewirkte Hustendämpfung kann zu einem unerwünschten Stau des Bronchialschleims in den Atemwegen führen, wodurch das Auftreten einer Atemwegsinfektion oder eines Bronchialkrampfes begünstigt wird.
Deshalb ist die gleichzeitige Anwendung von DemoTussol und Expektorantien zu vermeiden. Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin berät Sie in solchen Fällen gern.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen.
Während einer Schwangerschaft und der Stillzeit dürfen Sie DemoTussol nur auf ärztlichen Rat anwenden.
Falls nicht anders vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin verordnet:
Kinder von 2?6 Jahren: 3× tägl. 10 Tropfen.
Kinder von 6?12 Jahren: 3× tägl. 20 Tropfen.
Jugendliche ab 12 Jahren: 3× tägl. 30 Tropfen.
Erwachsene: 4× tägl. 30 Tropfen
Die Tropfen verdünnt mit etwas Wasser einnehmen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von DemoTussol auftreten:
In seltenen Fällen kann es zu Hautallergien, Übelkeit, Durchfall oder Schwindel kommen.
Bei Überdosis d.h. bei Einnahme bzw. Verabreichung einer zu grossen Menge DemoTussol können Schläfrigkeit, Übelkeit, Erbrechen und Durchfall, aber auch Gleichgewichtsstörungen und Blutdruckabfall auftreten.
Sollten solche Erscheinungen verstärkt auftreten oder wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
DemoTussol ist bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Falls Sie Arzneimittel besitzen, deren Datum abgelaufen ist, bringen Sie diese bitte in Ihre Apotheke oder Drogerie zur Vernichtung zurück.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
1 ml Tropfenlösung (ca. 30 Tropfen) enthält als Wirkstoff 22,5 mg Butamiratdihydrogencitrat (entspricht 13,95 mg Butamirat). Sie enthält zudem Aromastoffe, die Süssstoffe Sorbit und Acesulfam, das Konservierungsmittel Benzoesäure (E210), sowie weitere Hilfsstoffe.
