Nervifène enthält Chloralhydrat. Dieser Wirkstoff hat eine einschläfernde und beruhigende Wirkung. Nervifène führt den Schlaf herbei, der anschliessend zwischen 5 und 8 Stunden dauert. Nervifène darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin verwendet werden und kann nur während kurzer Dauer bei Unruhe und Schlaflosigkeit eingenommen werden.
Eine Änderung der Lebensweise, die Beseitigung von Spannungszuständen, eine Umstellung der Essgewohnheiten, der Verzicht auf anregende Getränke (z.B. Kaffee, Alkohol) tragen dazu bei, die Unruhe zu verringern und wieder einen guten Schlaf zu erreichen.
Nervifène darf bei Überempfindlichkeit oder Allergie gegen einen seiner Bestandteile, bei schweren Leber-, Nieren- und Herzerkrankungen, bei bestimmten Stoffwechselstörungen («Porphyrien») sowie bei Magengeschwüren nicht angewendet werden.
Nervifène ist auch bei Atemproblemen kontraindiziert, insbesondere wenn Sie nachts wegen Atembeschwerden (Schlafapnoe) erwachen.
Eine gewohnheitsmässige Einnahme kann zu Abhängigkeit führen. Wie jedes andere Schlafmittel darf Nervifène nicht während längerer Zeit eingenommen werden.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen! Das gilt vor allem bei gleichzeitigem Alkoholkonsum. Während der Behandlung mit Nervifène sollte daher auf Alkoholkonsum verzichtet werden.
Nervifène kann die Wirkung anderer Medikamente beeinflussen, die gleichzeitig eingenommen werden. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie Nervifène zusammen mit anderen Medikamenten, insbesondere Schlafmitteln, Medikamenten gegen Depressionen, gegen Epilepsie oder gegen zu hohen Blutdruck oder Antikoagulantien (Medikamente zur Blutverdünnung), einnehmen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an andern Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden (bei Externa)!
Während der Schwangerschaft dürfen Sie Nervifène nicht einnehmen.
Nervifène geht in die Muttermilch über und sollte daher nicht während der Stillzeit eingenommen werden.
Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin legt die für Sie richtige Dosierung und Behandlungsdauer fest. Bei Erwachsenen wird das Medikament als Schlafmittel in der Regel in der folgenden Dosierung verabreicht: 1 bis 2 Messlöffel zu 5 ml vor dem Schlafengehen (d.h. 0,5 bis 1 g Chloralhydrat); als Beruhigungsmittel während des Tages: ein halben Messlöffel (= 2,5 ml) 1?3 Mal täglich nach dem Essen ( d.h. 0,25 zu 0,75 g Chloralhydrat). Bei Kindern nach Verordnung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin.
Nervifène vor der Einnahme mit kaltem Wasser verdünnen. Der bittere Geschmack von Nervifène, der durch aromatische Extrakte etwas verdeckt wird, kann leicht nach der Einnahme durch etwas Zuckerwasser beseitigt werden.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Die Therapie sollte ohne vorherige Benachrichtigung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin nicht unterbrochen werden. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Nervifène auftreten: Magendarmstörungen (Blähungen, Durchfall, Erbrechen, Verwirrtheit), Übelkeit, Kopfschmerzen, Schläfrigkeit. Es können auch Erregungszustände oder Verwirrtheit auftreten.
Bei Überempfindlichkeit kann es zu Hautrötungen kommen. Eine zu hohe Dosierung kann zu einem Blutdruckabfall oder zu Herzrhythmusstörungen führen, die unverzüglich dem behandelnden Arzt gemeldet werden müssen.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Nervifène muss in der Originalpackung verschlossen, vor Wärme geschützt und ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahrt werden. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
