Tebofortin forte enthält einen Spezialextrakt aus den Blättern des japanischen Tempelbaumes (Ginkgo biloba). Dieser Extrakt ist quantifiziert auf durchschnittlich 24,5% Ginkgo-Flavonglykoside und 6% Terpenlactone (Ginkgolide, Bilobalid).
Der Ginkgoextrakt soll die Durchblutung, besonders im Bereich kleiner und kleinster Blutgefässe, und so die Sauerstoffversorgung der Gewebszellen verbessern. Tebofortin forte wird verwendet bei Beschwerden wie Konzentrationsmangel, Vergesslichkeit, Schwindelgefühl (bei Arteriosklerose-Beschwerden).
Bevor die Behandlung mit Tebofortin forte begonnen wird, sollte geklärt werden, ob die Krankheitssymptome nicht auf einer spezifisch zu behandelnden Grunderkrankung beruhen. Häufig auftretende Schwindelgefühle bedürfen grundsätzlich einer Abklärung durch den Arzt oder die Ärztin. Wenn die Beschwerden nicht innerhalb einer angemessenen Zeit nachlassen, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin um Rat fragen.
Einseitige Ernährung, übermässiger Fettkonsum sowie Rauchen können die Begleiterscheinungen der Arteriosklerose verstärken und sollten deshalb vermieden oder eingeschränkt werden.
Bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegen Ginkgo-biloba-Zubereitungen oder weiteren Bestandteilen des Arzneimittels (siehe «Was ist in Tebofortin forte enthalten?») darf Tebofortin forte nicht angewendet werden. Zur Anwendung dieses Arzneimittels bei Kindern und Jugendlichen liegen keine Untersuchungen vor. Es soll deshalb bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren nicht angewendet werden. Insbesondere bei Langzeitanwendung wurde über Einzelfälle von Blutungen berichtet (deren ursächlicher Zusammenhang mit der Einnahme von Ginkgo-Zubereitungen bisher nicht eindeutig gesichert ist). Eine Wechselwirkung mit Arzneimitteln, die die Blutgerinnung hemmen, kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden.
Über die Einnahme vor operativen Eingriffen ist der Arzt oder die Ärztin zu befragen bzw. zu informieren.
Falls bei Ihnen ein Krampfleiden (Epilepsie) bekannt ist, halten Sie vor Einnahme von Tebofortin forte Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin.

Aufgrund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. die Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Wenn vom Arzt nicht anders verordnet, nehmen Erwachsene 2-mal täglich 1 Filmtablette unzerkaut mit etwas Flüssigkeit ein. Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Bei der Einnahme von Ginkgo-haltigen Arzneimitteln können sehr selten leichte Magen-Darm-Beschwerden, Kopfschmerzen oder allergische Reaktionen der Haut (Hautrötung, -schwellung, Juckreiz) auftreten. Zum möglichen Blutungsrisiko siehe unter Rubrik «Wann darf Tebofortin forte nicht oder nur mit Vorsicht eingenommen werden?». Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern. Ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren. Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
1 Filmtablette enthält 80 mg Trockenextrakt aus Blättern von Ginkgo biloba (Droge-Extrakt-Verhältnis 35?67:1) entspricht 17,6?21,6 mg Ginkgo-Flavonglykoside und 4,32?5,28 mg Terpenlactone (Ginkgolide, Bilobalid). Auszugsmittel: Aceton 60% (m/m). Dieses Präparat enthält zusätzliche Hilfsstoffe sowie Sorbinsäure (Spuren).
