Braunovidon Salbe ist eine fettfreie, wasserlösliche Povidon-Iod-Zubereitung auf der Basis von Polyethylenglykol zur äusserlichen Anwendung.
Braunovidon Salbengazen sind weitmaschige, stabile Baumwollgazen, die gleichmässig mit Braunovidon Salbe beschichtet und einzeln verpackt sind.
Braunovidon wird angewendet zur Desinfektion von kleineren Verbrennungen, Schürf- und Risswunden Ausschliesslich auf ärztliche Verordnung kann Braunovidon zur Desinfektion von anderen infizierten Hautverletzungen verwendet werden.
Grossflächige, stark verschmutzte und tiefe Wunden, sowie Biss- und Stichwunden benötigen eine ärztliche Behandlung. (Gefahr von Wundstarrkrampf.) Bleibt der Umfang einer Wunde während einiger Zeit unverändert gross oder verheilt die Wunde nicht innerhalb von 10-14 Tagen, ist ebenfalls ein Arztbesuch erforderlich. Ebenso, wenn die Wundränder stark gerötet sind, die Wunde plötzlich anschwillt, stark schmerzhaft ist oder die Verletzung von Fieber begleitet wird. (Gefahr einer Blutvergiftung.)
Braunovidon sollte nicht angewendet werden (dies gilt insbesondere für grossflächige bzw. wiederholte Anwendung)
Braunovidon darf nicht gleichzeitig mit Präparaten angewendet werden, welche folgende Wirkstoffe enthalten: Silbersulfodiazin, Alkalien oder Quecksilber.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Braunovidon darf während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit nicht angewendet werden, es sei denn auf ärztliche Verschreibung.
Salbe: Soweit nicht anders verordnet wird die Salbe ein- bis mehrmals täglich auf die erkrankten Stellen aufgetragen. Betroffene Partien vollständig bestreichen. Die Salbe sollte spätestens nach Entfärbung neu aufgetragen werden.
Salbengaze: Soweit nicht anders verordnet, wird die Wundfläche mit Salbengaze abgedeckt und diese wird ein- bis mehrmals täglich gewechselt.
Zu Beginn der Behandlung stark entzündeter oder nässender Wunden sollte die Salbengaze alle 4-6 Stunden erneuert werden, um eine optimale Wirkung zu erhalten.
Der Salbengaze-Verband sollte spätestens nach Entfärbung der Salbe gewechselt werden.
a) Folienverpackung an den Laschen fassen und aufreissen. Salbengaze mit Schutzfolien unter sterilen Bedingungen entnehmen und bei Bedarf auf gewünschte Grösse zuschneiden.
b) Weisse Schutzfolie abziehen.
c) Beschichtete Seite auf die Wunde legen, Klarsichtfolie als Abdeckung auf der Gaze belassen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt, bzw. von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Braunovidon auftreten:
Es können vorübergehend Schmerzen, Brennen, Wärmegefühl beim Auflegen auf Wundflächen auftreten. Selten treten Hautreizungen und allergische Reaktionen auf.
Bei längerer Behandlung kann die Wundheilung gehemmt werden.
Nach umfangreicher Povidon-Iod-Anwendung (z.B. bei Verbrennungen) kann es zu Niereninsuffizienz kommen (Einzelfälle).
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Wegen der Wasserlöslichkeit von Povidon-Iod lassen sich Flecken aus textilem Gewebe mit Wasser und Seife, in hartnäckigen Fällen mit Salmiakgeist oder Thiosulfatlösung leicht entfernen.
Ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern.
Braunovidon darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.

1 Gaze-Abschnitt zu 7,5 x 10 cm enthält 10,5 g Salbe.
