Pectox Mucolyticum verflüssigt zähen Schleim in den Atemwegen und erleichtert so das Abhusten von festsitzendem Schleim. Der Hustenreiz wird vermindert und die Atmung erleichtert.
Pectox Mucolyticum wird zur Behandlung von Erkältungshusten mit zäher Schleimbildung angewendet.
Auf ärztliche Verschreibung kann Pectox Mucolyticum auch bei chronischen, mit vermehrter Schleimbildung einhergehender Entzündungen der Bronchialschleimhaut angewendet werden.
Sie können die Wirksamkeit von Pectox Mucolyticum unterstützen, indem Sie während der Behandlung genügend trinken. Rauchen trägt zur übermässigen Bildung von Bronchialschleim und zur Entstehung von Husten bei. Falls Sie rauchen, können Sie durch Verzicht darauf die Wirkung von Pectox Mucolyticum fördern.
Hinweis für Diabetiker: 10 ml Pectox Mucolyticum enthalten 1.5 g Kohlenhydrate. 1 Messbecher zu 15 ml entspricht 0.225 Brotwerten.
Pectox Mucolyticum darf nicht angewendet werden, wenn Sie an einem Magen- oder Dünndarmgeschwür leiden, sowie bei einer Überempfindlichkeit gegen den Wirkstoff oder einen der Inhaltsstoffe.
Pectox Mucolyticum darf nicht an Kinder unter 2 Jahren verabreicht werden.
Wenn bei Ihnen die Gefahr von Blutungen im Magen-Darm-Bereich (z.B. bei Magen-Darm-Geschwüren) besteht, sollten Sie Pectox Mucolyticum nur unter ärztlicher Kontrolle einnehmen.
Sie sollten Pectox Mucolyticum nicht einnehmen, wenn Sie bereits ein hustenstillendes Arzneimittel (Antitussivum) angewendet haben. Die gleichzeitige Verwendung eines schleimlösenden und eines hustenstillenden Arzneimittels kann durch die Hemmung des Hustens zu einer Ansammlung von verflüssigtem Schleim in den Bronchien führen. Dadurch kann es zu einer Infektion der Atemwege und einem Bronchialkrampf kommen.
Im Falle des Auftretens von Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen (siehe unter «Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Pectox Mucolyticum haben?») müssen Sie die Behandlung mit Pectox Mucolyticum abbrechen und einen Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin verständigen.
Hält der Husten länger als 14 Tage an, so sprechen Sie bitte mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin, um die Ursache des Hustens abzuklären.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie
- an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
- Allergien haben oder
- andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit sollten Sie Pectox Mucolyticum nicht einnehmen, es sei denn, auf ärztliche Verschreibung.
Sollte während der Stillzeit eine Behandlung zwingend notwendig sein, müssen Sie abstillen.
Falls vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet:
Dosierung (mittels beiliegendem Messbecher), Einnahme jeweils vor den Mahlzeiten:
Kinder von 2-4 Jahren: 2× täglich 5 ml;
Kinder ab 4 Jahren: 3× täglich 5 ml;
Jugendliche ab 12 Jahren: 2-3x täglich 15 ml;
Erwachsene: 3× täglich 15 ml.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Pectox Mucolyticum auftreten:
Gelegentlich können Magen-Darm-Beschwerden auftreten. Sie äussern sich als Magenschmerzen, Sodbrennen, Übelkeit, Erbrechen oder Durchfall. Gelegentlich kommt es auch zu Kopfschmerzen. In solchen Fällen wird empfohlen, die Dosierung zu verringern.
Bei Überdosierung, d.h. bei einer (unbeabsichtigten) Einnahme bzw. Verabreichung von Mengen, die die oben empfohlenen überschreiten, müssen Sie mit einer Zunahme der Nebenwirkungen rechnen. Bei Anzeichen einer Überdosierung müssen Sie einen Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin verständigen.
In seltenen Fällen können Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen (Allergien) auftreten. Sie äussern sich als Juckreiz, Hautausschlag und Unwohlsein. Bei Auftreten solcher Erscheinungen müssen Sie mit der Einnahme bzw. Verabreichung von Pectox Mucolyticum sofort aufhören und so rasch wie möglich einen Arzt bzw. eine Ärztin aufsuchen.
Arzneimittel für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahren!
Bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) und vor Licht geschützt aufbewahren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
