Stugeron verbessert die Durchblutung des Gleichgewichtsorgans im Innenohr. Dadurch wird einer Verengung der Blutgefässe in diesem Organ entgegengewirkt und eine Überreizung des Gleichgewichtsorgans, welche zu Schwindel, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Schweissausbrüchen und Blässe führen kann, verhindert.
Stugeron Tabletten dienen der Vorbeugung von See-, Flug- und Reisekrankheit.
Auf ärztliche Verordnung werden Stugeron Tabletten zudem bei Reizungen und Durchblutungsstörungen des Innenohrs (Ohrensausen, Schwindel, Augenzittern, Übelkeit) und Menièrescher Krankheit eingesetzt.
Patienten, welche unter Depressionen leiden, dürfen Stugeron nicht einnehmen, ebenso Patienten, die an Parkinsonscher Krankheit leiden oder gelitten haben.
Bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit auf einen Inhaltsstoff sowie nach frischem Herzinfarkt soll Stugeron ebenfalls nicht eingenommen werden.
Kinder unter 4 Jahren sollen Stugeron nur auf ärztliche Verordnung hin einnehmen.
Eine längerdauernde Behandlung soll nur unter ärztlicher Kontrolle erfolgen.
Besonders am Anfang der Behandlung kann Stugeron schläfrig machen und somit die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge und Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen.
Bei Arzneimitteln gegen Depressionen und Arzneimitteln, die Ihr Reaktionsvermögen verlangsamen (Schlaftabletten, Tranquilizer, starke Schmerzmittel), kann die beruhigende Wirkung durch die gleichzeitige Einnahme von Stugeron verstärkt werden.
Alkohol und Stugeron verstärken gegenseitig die dämpfende Wirkung. Trinken Sie deshalb keinen Alkohol während Sie Stugeron einnehmen.

Während der Schwangerschaft soll Stugeron nur auf ausdrückliche Anweisung eines Arztes oder einer Ärztin hin eingenommen werden.
Da es unbekannt ist, ob Stugeron in die Muttermilch übergeht, sollten Sie während der Stillzeit dieses Arzneimittel nicht einnehmen.
Wenn vom Arzt oder von der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet:
1 Tablette Stugeron mindestens eine halbe Stunde vor der Abreise. Bei längerdauernden Reisen können Sie alle 6 Stunden eine weitere Tablette einnehmen. Pro Tag dürfen nicht mehr als 6 Tabletten eingenommen werden.
Kinder erhalten die halbe Dosierung.
Empfindlichen Personen wird empfohlen, vor langen Reisen (z.B. Seereisen) schon am Vortag der Abreise 3×1 Tablette einzunehmen.
Stugeron Tabletten werden nach den Mahlzeiten mit etwas Flüssigkeit eingenommen.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen (auch unerwünschte Arzneimittelwirkungen genannt) können bei der Einnahme von Stugeron auftreten:
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Bei einer Überdosierung können folgende Symptome auftreten: Bewusstseinsveränderung (von Schläfrigkeit bis Bewusstseinsverlust und Koma reichend), Erbrechen, Muskelschwäche oder mangelhafte Koordination und Krampfanfälle, tiefer Blutdruck. Die klinischen Folgen waren in den meisten Fällen nicht schwerwiegend, doch im Zusammenhang mit Cinnarizin-Überdosierungen wurde von Todesfällen berichtet. Wenn Sie eine Überdosierung vermuten, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin kontaktieren.
