    Zolpidem CR Zentiva ist ein Schlafmittel zur kurzfristigen Behandlung verschiedener Formen von schwerer Schlaflosigkeit.

    +-Was sollte dazu beachtet werden?

    Zolpidem CR Zentiva darf nur bei ausgeprägten Schlafstörungen verwendet werden und während einer kurzen Zeit, im Allgemeinen 7 bis 10 Tage. Die Behandlung sollte nicht 4 Wochen überschreiten.

    Zusätzlich sind folgende Regeln zur Schlafhygiene zu beachten:

    • die im Bett verbrachte Zeit ist zu beschränken: 8 Stunden genügen,
    • nicht während des Tages schlafen,
    • sich an regelmässige Schlaf- und Aufstehzeiten halten,
    • keine stimulierende Getränke wie Tee oder Kaffee einnehmen,
    • nur wenig Alkohol trinken.
    +-Wann darf Zolpidem CR Zentiva nicht angewendet werden?

    Zolpidem CR Zentiva darf in folgenden Fällen nicht eingenommen werden:

    Schlaf-Apnoe-Syndrom (Störungen der Atmungsregulierung mit nächtlichen Atemstillständen), schwere Ateminsuffizienz, ausgeprägte Muskelmüdigkeit (Myasthenia gravis), schwere Leberfunktionsstörung, Allergie auf eine in Zolpidem CR Zentiva enthaltene Substanz, Laktoseintoleranz.

    +-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Zolpidem CR Zentiva Vorsicht geboten?

    Obwohl keine chemische Verwandtschaft mit Benzodiazepinen besteht, ist der Wirkungsmechanismus von Zolpidem CR Zentiva dem dieser Substanzen sehr ähnlich. Deshalb sei verwiesen auf das Folgende:

    Abhängigkeitsrisiko:

    Die Einnahme von Zolpidem CR Zentiva kann, wie bei allen Schlafmitteln, zur Abhängigkeit führen. Diese tritt vor allem bei fortgesetzter Einnahme auf (in gewissen Fällen bereits nach wenigen Wochen), sowie bei Personen, welche schon an psychiatrischen Störungen, Alkoholabhängigkeit oder Toxikomanie gelitten haben. Beim abrupten Absetzen der Medikamenteneinnahme können Entzugssymptome auftreten, z.B. Unruhe, Angstzustände, Schlaflosigkeit, Konzentrationsstörungen, Kopfschmerzen und Schweissausbruch. Diese Zeichen verschwinden im Allgemeinen nach zwei bis drei Wochen.

    Um das Abhängigkeitsrisiko möglichst klein zu halten, sind folgende Empfehlungen zu beachten:

    • Nehmen Sie Zolpidem CR Zentiva nur auf ärztliche Verordnung ein (niemals auf Rat einer Drittperson!) und geben Sie es nie an eine andere Person weiter,
    • Überschreiten Sie die verordnete Dosis nicht. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie das Medikament absetzen wollen,
    • Eine länger dauernde Einnahme darf nur unter engmaschiger ärztlicher Kontrolle erfolgen.

    Die Behandlung älterer Personen mit Zolpidem CR Zentiva erfordert deren engmaschige Überwachung durch den Arzt bzw. die Ärztin.

    Bestimmte Krankheiten (Atem-, Leber-, Niereninsuffizienz) verlangen eine Anpassung der Dosis. Solche Krankheiten können die Wirkung und auch die Nebenwirkungen dieses Medikaments verstärken.

    Kinder und Jugendliche: das Präparat ist nicht an Kinder unter 18 Jahren abzugeben, da für diese Altersgruppe nur beschränkte klinische Erfahrungen vorliegen.

    Fahrzeuglenker und Führer von Maschinen sind auf das eventuelle Risiko von Schläfrigkeit aufmerksam zu machen. Um dieses Risiko zu vermeiden wird eine volle Nacht Schlaf empfohlen.

    Tritt im Laufe der Behandlung eine unerwünschte Wirkung ein, ist sie dem behandelnden Arzt bzw. der behandelnden Ärztin mitzuteilen.

    Zolpidem CR Zentiva darf nicht zusammen mit Alkohol eingenommen werden, weil Alkohol die Medikamentenwirkung verstärken kann.

    Andere Beruhigungsmittel wie Antidepressiva, Sedativa, andere Schlafmittel, Medikamente gegen Epilepsie und Schmerzmittel (z.B. Opiate) können die Wirkung von Zolpidem CR Zentiva deutlich verstärken. Wenn Sie an Depression oder an einer anderen Verhaltensstörung leiden, dürfen Sie Zolpidem CR Zentiva nicht ohne das eindrückliche Einverständnis Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin einnehmen.

    Es wurden Fälle berichtet, in denen Personen nach der Einnahme von Zolpidem CR Zentiva oder einem ähnlichen Medikament während des Schlafs oder in nicht völlig wachem Zustand Handlungen ausführten (Somnambulismus) und sich später nicht daran erinnerten. Die beobachteten Verhaltensweisen umfassten Somnambulismus beim Autofahren, bei der Essenszubereitung, beim Essen, beim Telefonieren oder während des Geschlechtsverkehrs sowie in Einzelfällen selbstschädigendes Verhalten. Die Einnahme von Alkohol und anderen Medikamenten, die auf das zentrale Nervensystem wirken, scheinen in Verbindung mit Zolpidem CR Zentiva das Risiko für solches Verhalten zu erhöhen. Wenn Sie bei sich ein solches Verhalten feststellen, das Sie selbst oder andere gefährden könnte, brechen Sie die Behandlung ab und benachrichtigen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.

    Schläfrigkeit

    Die Einnahme von Zolpidem CR Zentiva kann zu Schläfrigkeit und Bewusstseinsverminderung führen, dies kann Stürze und daraus resultierende schwere Verletzungen nach sich ziehen.

    Beim Führen von Fahrzeugen und der Bedienung von Maschinen kann Zolpidem CR Zentiva die Leistungsfähigkeit und die Aufmerksamkeit beeinträchtigen. Es kann auch Schläfrigkeit oder verschwommenes Sehen zur Folge haben. Die unerwünschten Wirkungen können durch die Einnahme von Alkohol verstärkt werden.

    Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie

    • an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
    • Allergien haben, oder
    • andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
    +-Darf Zolpidem CR Zentiva während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

    Schwangerschaft: Wenn Sie schwanger sind oder es werden möchten, dürfen Sie Zolpidem CR Zentiva nicht einnehmen.

    Stillzeit: Nehmen Sie Zolpidem CR Zentiva nicht ein,  wenn Sie stillen, da geringe Mengen von Zolpidem in die Muttermilch übergehen.

    +-Wie verwenden Sie Zolpidem CR Zentiva?

    Befolgen Sie die Anweisung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin.

    Erwachsene

    Die übliche Dosis beträgt 1 Tablette zu 12.5 mg abends, unmittelbar vor dem Zubettgehen oder wenn man sich bereits im Bett befindet. Nehmen Sie nie mehr als 1 Tablette pro Nacht ein.

    Ältere Personen (über 65 Jahre)

    Die übliche Dosis beträgt 1 Tablette zu 6.5 mg abends, unmittelbar vor dem Zubettgehen.

    Als Regel sollten Sie immer die kleinste wirksame Dosis einnehmen und das so kurz wie möglich.

    Die Anwendung von Zolpidem CR Zentiva wird bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren nicht empfohlen.

    Die Dosierung von 1 Tablette zu 12.5 mg darf nicht überschritten werden.

    Die Tabletten müssen ganz geschluckt werden.

    Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

    +-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Zolpidem CR Zentiva haben?

    Die Nebenwirkungen sind von der eingenommenen Dosis und der individuellen Empfindlichkeit abhängig, speziell bei alten Personen.

    Die Nebenwirkungen treten am häufigsten in der Stunde nach der Einnahme auf, besonders wenn Sie nicht liegen oder nicht sofort einschlafen (siehe «Wie verwenden Sie Zolpidem CR Zentiva?»). Sie können aber ebenfalls am nächsten Morgen beim Erwachen auftreten.

    Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme oder Anwendung von Zolpidem CR Zentiva auftreten: am häufigsten werden Kopfschmerzen und Schläfrigkeit am Tage beobachtet.

    Folgende unerwünschte Wirkungen können ebenfalls häufig beobachtet werden: Grippe, Angstzustände, psychomotorische Retardierung, Desorientierung, Schwindel, Gedächtnisstörungen, Aufmerksamkeitsstörungen, Sehstörungen, Übelkeit, Verstopfung, Muskelschmerzen oder -krämpfe, Nackenschmerzen, Rückenschmerzen, Müdigkeit.

    Gedächtnisstörungen treten am häufigsten auf, wenn Sie wach sind, aber das Medikament noch immer wirksam ist. Möglicherweise können Sie sich später nicht mehr an die Ereignisse erinnern, die während dieser Wachphase aufgetreten sind.

    Gelegentlich wurden zudem folgende Nebenwirkungen beobachtet:

    Gastroenteritis, Otitis, Infektion der Atemwege, Appetitstörungen, Depressionen, Halluzinationen, Apathie, Bulimie, Verwirrtheit, affektive Störungen, Alpträume, Stresssymptome, Gehstörungen, Verminderung der Empfindlichkeit, Kribbelgefühle, schlechte Bewegungskoordination, Geschmacksanomalie, Zittern, Augenrötung, verschwommener Blick, Tinnitus, Herzklopfen, Husten, Halsschmerzen, Erbrechen, Bauchschmerzen, Ausschlag, Urtikaria, Gelenkschmerz, Miktionsbeschwerden, Menstruationsbeschwerden.

    Seltene Fälle von Störungen der Leberfunktion, Gelbsucht und Leberentzündung wurden berichtet.

    Es wurde über Einzelfälle von Stürzen berichtet, vor allem bei älteren Menschen oder Patienten, welche die empfohlene Dosierung nicht eingehalten haben.

    Falls eines dieser Symptome auftritt, benachrichtigen Sie sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.

    Das Medikament darf nicht über 30 °C gelagert werden und muss ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahrt werden.

    Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
