Ultracortenol enthält eine entzündungshemmende Substanz (das Kortikosteroid Prednisolon). Ultracortenol wird bei nicht infektiösen Entzündungen im vorderen Augenabschnitt angewendet.
Ultracortenol darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes, bzw. der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Falls Sie gleichzeitig mit Ultracortenol noch andere Arzneimittel am Auge anwenden müssen, sollten Sie dies mit dem behandelnden Arzt, bzw. der Ärztin besprechen, damit ein optimaler Zeitplan für die einzelnen Anwendungen aufgestellt werden kann.
Hinweis für Kontaktlinsenträger: Wenn Sie Kontaktlinsen tragen, sollten Sie während der Behandlung mit Ultracortenol die Linsen nicht tragen, da das Linsentragen generell bei Augenentzündungen nicht zu empfehlen ist.
?Wenn Sie auf den Wirkstoff Prednisolon, oder andere Inhaltsstoffe von Ultracortenol allergisch sind.
?Wenn äussere Verletzungen oder Geschwüre der Hornhaut vorhanden sind.
?Bei Augenerkrankungen, welche durch Viren, Bakterien oder Pilze verursacht werden.
Wenn sich die mit Ultracortenol behandelten Augenbeschwerden nach 2-3 Behandlungstagen verschlechtern oder neue Symptome auftreten, sollten Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt, bzw. Ihre Ärztin konsultieren.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker, bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden ? insbesondere bei grünem oder grauem Star oder Diabetes ? , Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder am Auge anwenden.
Die Anwendung während einer Schwangerschaft darf nur mit ausdrücklicher Genehmigung Ihres Arztes, bzw. Ihrer Ärztin erfolgen.
Ebenso darf Ultracortenol während der Stillzeit nur mit ausdrücklicher Genehmigung angewendet werden.
Übliche Dosierung: Pro Tag wird 3-5 mal ein Salbenstrang von 3-5 mm Länge in den Bindehautsack des betroffenen Auges gegeben. Mit einer Hand die Tube bei nach hinten geneigtem Kopf möglichst senkrecht über das Auge halten, mit der anderen Hand das Unterlid leicht nach unten ziehen und durch Druck auf die Tube einen 3-5 mm langen Salbenstrang in den Bindehautsack fallen lassen (vermeiden Sie eine Berührung des Auges oder des Unterlids mit der Tubenspitze). Aus Sterilitätsgründen auch darauf achten, dass während der Anwendung die Tubenspitze weder mit den Händen noch mit anderen Gegenständen in Berührung kommt.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit der Ultracortenol Augensalbe bei Kindern unter 2 Jahren ist bisher nicht geprüft worden.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können nach der Anwendung von Ultracortenol auftreten:
Ein leichtes, vorübergehendes Brennen direkt nach der Anwendung.
Erhöhung des Augeninnendrucks.
Bei längerer Anwendung sind Veränderungen der Sehschärfe und/oder des Gesichtsfeldes oder Zweitinfektionen im Auge möglich.
Ebenso kann es zu einer verzögerten Wundheilung kommen.
Pupillenerweiterung.
Hornhautschäden.
Trübung der Linse im Augeninnern (Katarakt).
Herabhängen des Augenlids.
In den Augenpräparaten enthaltene Wirkstoffe können in den Blutkreislauf gelangen. Nebenwirkungen können deshalb ausser am Auge auch an anderen Teilen des Körpers auftreten.
Falls diese oder weitere Nebenwirkungen, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, auftreten (wie z.B. Rötung, Schwellung, Juckreiz oder Fremdkörpergefühl), sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Um eine mögliche mikrobielle Verunreinigung (Kontamination) zu vermeiden, darf die Tubenspitze weder mit den Händen noch mit dem Auge in Berührung kommen. Die Tube nach Gebrauch sofort verschliessen und immer gut verschlossen halten.
Bewahren Sie Ultracortenol in der verschlossenen Originalpackung bei Raumtemperatur (15° - 25°C) auf.
Nach Anbruch der Tube Ultracortenol nicht länger als einen Monat verwenden.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Nach Beendigung der Behandlung das Arzneimittel mit dem restlichen Inhalt Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker, bzw. der Ärztin oder Apothekerin zum Vernichten bringen.
Arzneimittel sollten Sie grundsätzlich für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahren.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker, bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
