+-Was ist Temesta/Temesta Expidet und wann wird es angewendet?

Temesta, Tabletten bzw. Temesta Expidet, Schmelztabletten enthalten den Wirkstoff Lorazepam, ein Benzodiazepin. Dieser besitzt angstlösende und beruhigende Eigenschaften.

Auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin. Temesta/Temesta Expidet dient zur Behandlung von Angst- und Spannungszuständen.

Die Ursache von Angst und Spannung kann durch Temesta/Temesta Expidet jedoch nicht beseitigt werden.

Ferner wird Temesta/Temesta Expidet zur Beruhigung vor diagnostischen und operativen Eingriffen verwendet.

+-Wann darf Temesta/Temesta Expidet nicht angewendet werden?

Bei Überempfindlichkeit auf Benzodiazepine und/oder auf andere im Arzneimittel enthaltene Substanzen, bei Störungen der Atmungsregulierung mit kurzzeitigem Aussetzen der Atmung während des Schlafs (sog. «Schlafapnoe-Syndrom»), bei schwerer Beeinträchtigung des Atmens, sowie bei krankhafter Muskelschwäche (Myasthenia gravis) darf Temesta/Temesta Expidet nicht eingenommen werden.

Bei Arzneimittel-, Alkohol- oder Drogenabhängigkeit.

Temesta/Temesta Expidet darf nicht an Kinder unter 12 Jahren verabreicht werden.

+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Temesta/Temesta Expidet Vorsicht geboten?

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie an Atemwegserkrankungen, Leber- oder Nierenstörungen, Allergien oder anderen Krankheiten leiden.

Des Weiteren sollen Sie Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin mitteilen, wenn Sie zusätzlich zu Temesta/Temesta Expidet andere Arzneimittel einnehmen, wie Beruhigungsmittel, Schlafmittel, starke Schmerzmittel, Mittel gegen Depressionen, krampflösende Mittel (Antiepileptika) oder muskelrelaxierende Arzneimittel, weil sich die Wirkungen dieser Arzneimittel gegenseitig verstärken könnten.

Auch über die zusätzliche Einnahme gewisser Antiasthmatika (Theophyllin, Aminophyllin) sollten Sie Ihren Arzt/Ärztin informieren, da sich dadurch die Wirkung von Temesta/Temesta Expidet vermindern kann.

Alkoholische Getränke können die Wirkung von Temesta/Temesta Expidet verstärken. Daher sollten Sie während der Behandlung mit Temesta/Temesta Expidet auf alkoholische Getränke verzichten.

Bei der Anwendung von Benzodiazepinen wurde über schwere allergische Reaktionen berichtet. Es wurden Fälle eines Angioödems (Schwellung der Haut und/oder Schleimhäute) mit Beteiligung von Zunge, Kehlkopf oder des stimmbildenden Kehlkopfbereichs (Glottis) nach Einnahme der ersten Dosis oder weiterer Dosen von Benzodiazepinen berichtet. Bei manchen Patientinnen bzw. Patienten kam es unter Einnahme von Benzodiazepinen zu weiteren Symptomen wie Kurzatmigkeit (Dyspnoe), Zuschwellen des Rachens oder Übelkeit und Erbrechen. Manche Patientinnen bzw. Patienten mussten als medizinischer Notfall behandelt werden. Falls ein Angioödem mit Beteiligung von Zunge, Kehlkopf (Larynx) oder des stimmbildenden Kehlkopfbereichs (Glottis) auftritt, kann ein Verschluss der Atemwege auftreten und tödlich verlaufen.

Temesta/Temesta Expidet kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen. Deshalb sollten Sie das Lenken von Motorfahrzeugen und das Bedienen von Maschinen solange unterlassen, bis feststeht, dass das Arzneimittel Sie tagsüber weder schläfrig noch schwindlig macht, und dass Ihre Aufmerksamkeit und Ihr Reaktionsvermögen nicht beeinträchtigt sind.

Abhängigkeitsgefährdung

Die Einnahme von Temesta/Temesta Expidet kann ? wie bei allen benzodiazepinhaltigen Präparaten ? zu einer Abhängigkeit führen. Diese kann vor allem bei einer ununterbrochenen Einnahme über längere Zeit (in gewissen Fällen bereits nach einigen Wochen) auftreten und hat nach abruptem Absetzen des Arzneimittels Entzugssymptome zur Folge. Es können dann Unruhe, Angstzustände, Schlaflosigkeit, Verwirrtheit, Schwindel, Reizbarkeit, Depression, Konzentrationsschwäche, Kopfschmerzen und Schweissausbrüche, Verspannung, Realitätsverlust, Persönlichkeitsstörungen, Kribbeln und Taubheit der Arme und Beine, Licht- und Lärmempfindlichkeit, Empfindungs- und Wahrnehmungsstörungen, unwillkürliche Bewegungen, Verlust des Kurzzeitgedächtnisses auftreten. Weitere Anzeichen sind Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Durchfall, Appetitverlust, Herzprobleme, in seltenen Fällen Halluzinationen, Panikattacken, epileptische Anfälle. Diese Erscheinungen klingen in der Regel nach 2-3 Wochen ab.

Um das Risiko der Entwicklung einer Abhängigkeit möglichst klein zu halten, sollten Sie folgende Hinweise beachten:

Nehmen Sie Temesta/Temesta Expidet nur auf Anordnung Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin ein.
Erhöhen Sie auf keinen Fall die vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosis.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie das Arzneimittel absetzen wollen.
Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird periodisch darüber entscheiden, ob die Behandlung weitergeführt werden muss.
Eine Einnahme über längere Zeit (in der Regel mehr als vier Wochen) darf nur unter sorgfältiger ärztlicher Überwachung erfolgen.

Temesta, Tabletten enthalten Lactose. Patienten und Patientinnen mit der seltenen, vererbten Galactose-Unverträglichkeit, Lactase-Mangel oder Glucose-Galactose-Malabsorption sollten Temesta, Tabletten nicht einnehmen.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie

an andern Krankheiten leiden,
Allergien haben oder
andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.

+-Darf Temesta/Temesta Expidet während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Orientieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin über eine erwünschte oder eingetretene Schwangerschaft.

Während einer Schwangerschaft darf dieses Arzneimittel grundsätzlich nicht eingenommen werden, da es Hinweise gibt, dass solche Arzneimittel zu Risiken für das Ungeborene oder Störungen beim Neugeborenen führen könnten.

Das Arzneimittel tritt in die Muttermilch über. In der Stillzeit soll das Arzneimittel nicht angewendet werden, weil es unter anderem den Säugling schläfrig und trinkfaul machen kann.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Temesta/Temesta Expidet?

Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin bestimmt für Sie die geeignete Dosierung und Dauer der Behandlung angesichts der Art der zu behandelnden Symptome.

Die übliche Dosierung für Erwachsene beträgt zwei bis dreimal täglich 1 Tablette Temesta zu 1,0 mg oder 1 Schmelztablette Temesta Expidet zu 1,0 mg.

Bei Schlafstörungen genügt in der Regel 1 Tablette Temesta zu 1,0 mg oder 1 Schmelztablette Temesta Expidet zu 1,0 mg eine halbe Stunde vor dem Schlafengehen.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung und beenden Sie Ihre Behandlung auf keinen Fall, ohne Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin zu befragen. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

Nehmen Sie Temesta, Tabletten unzerkaut während den Mahlzeiten mit einem halben Glas Wasser ein. Für die Einnahme von Temesta Expidet, Schmelztabletten benötigen Sie keine Flüssigkeit, denn sobald Sie die Expidet Schmelztablette auf die Zunge legen, löst sie sich bei Kontakt mit dem Speichel auf.

Temesta, Tabletten sind teilbar. Temesta Expidet, Schmelztabletten weisen eine Zierbruchrille auf.

Handhabung der Temesta Expidet, Schmelztabletten

Sie dürfen die Schmelztablette NICHT aus der Folie herausdrücken, sondern müssen zunächst die Folie wegziehen, bevor Sie die Schmelztablette herausnehmen.

Wie man Temesta Expidet, Schmelztabletten aus der Packung herausnimmt

1. Folienrand hochziehen.

2. Folie entfernen.

3. Schmelztablette herausdrücken.

4. Schmelztablette mit trockenen Händen herausnehmen.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Temesta/Temesta Expidet haben?

Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Temesta/Temesta Expidet auftreten: Zu den Nebenwirkungen, die nach Einnahme von Benzodiazepinen am häufigsten auftreten, gehören Mattigkeit, Erschöpfung, Schläfrigkeit während des Tages, Schwindel, Muskelschwäche oder Gang? und Bewegungsstörungen.

Diese Erscheinungen treten vor allem zu Beginn der Behandlung auf. Bei anhaltender Behandlung oder Reduktion der Dosis gehen sie im Allgemeinen in ihrem Schweregrad zurück oder klingen vollständig ab.

Ebenfalls häufig beobachtet man auch Verwirrtheit und Depressionen.

Gelegentlich werden Übelkeit und Sexualschwäche beobachtet. Ebenfalls auftreten können Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen, anaphylaktische/-oide Reaktionen, Angioödem (Schwellung der Haut und/oder Schleimhäute), Hautreaktionen, Blutdruckabfall, Seh- und Sprechstörungen, Atembeschwerden, Kopfschmerzen, Haarausfall und Leberfunktionsstörungen, Gelbsucht, Verstopfung, Gedächtnislücken, eingeschränkte Aufmerksamkeit/Konzentration, Gleichgewichtsstörungen.

Wie mit anderen Benzodiazepin-haltigen Arzneimitteln sind selten psychische Reaktionen aufgetreten, wie vorübergehende Ruhelosigkeit, Unruhe, Angst und Erregbarkeit (eventuell mit vorübergehenden Gedächtnisstörungen), Aggressivität, Wahnvorstellungen, Alpträume, Psychosen, verändertes Verhalten.

Teilen Sie Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin mit, wenn bei Ihnen welche der aufgeführten Nebenwirkungen auftreten.

Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

Temesta/Temesta Expidet ist ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren.

Temesta, Tabletten bzw. Temesta Expidet, Schmelztabletten müssen vor Feuchtigkeit geschützt und bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) aufbewahrt werden.

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.

Temesta, Tabletten

Jede Tablette enthält 1,0 mg oder 2,5 mg Lorazepam als Wirkstoff.

Hilfsstoffe: Lactose, mikrokristalline Cellulose, Polacrilin-Kalium, Magnesiumstearat.

Die 2,5 mg Tabletten enthalten zusätzlich die Farbstoffe Chinolingelb (E104) und gelbes Eisenoxid (E172).

Temesta Expidet, Schmelztabletten

Jede Schmelztablette enthält 1,0 mg oder 2,5 mg Lorazepam als Wirkstoff.
