+-Was ist Risedronat-Mepha und wann wird es angewendet?

Risedronat-Mepha gehört zu den so genannten Bisphosphonaten, einer Gruppe von nichthormonellen Arzneimitteln, die zur Behandlung von Knochenerkrankungen verwendet werden. Risedronat-Mepha wirkt direkt auf die Knochen und führt zu einer Zunahme der Knochenmasse und der Knochenstärke, wodurch sich das Risiko von Knochenbrüchen (Hüftfrakturen, Wirbelfrakturen und andere Brüche) vermindert. Risedronat-Mepha darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin bei folgenden Knochenproblemen verwendet werden:

Behandlung und Vorbeugung einer Osteoporose (Verminderung des Knochengewebes) bei Frauen in den Wechseljahren und zur Behandlung einer Osteoporose bei Männern.

Behandlung und Vorbeugung der Osteoporose bei Frauen und Männern, die eine Langzeitbehandlung mit Kortikosteroiden benötigen.

Behandlung von Patienten mit Paget-Krankheit, einer schleichend beginnenden, oft schmerzhaften Verkrümmung und Verdickung von Knochen.

+-Was sollte dazu beachtet werden?

Es ist wichtig, dass Sie auf eine Ernährung achten, die reich an Kalzium und Vitamin D ist (z.B. Milchprodukte).

+-Wann darf Risedronat-Mepha nicht angewendet werden?

Sie dürfen Risedronat-Mepha nicht einnehmen, wenn Sie:

früher auf Risedronat oder einen der Inhaltsstoffe allergische Reaktionen gezeigt haben,

einen erniedrigten Kalziumwert im Blut (Hypokalzämie) haben,

nicht in der Lage sind, nach Einnahme von Risedronat-Mepha mindestens 30 Minuten lang aufrecht zu stehen oder zu sitzen,

an einer schweren Nierenerkrankung leiden,

schwanger sind oder sein könnten, eine Schwangerschaft planen, oder wenn Sie stillen.

+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Risedronat-Mepha Vorsicht geboten?

Sprechen Sie bitte mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin, bevor Sie Risedronat-Mepha einnehmen, wenn Sie:

Nierenprobleme haben,

Störungen des Knochen- und Mineralstoffwechsels haben (z.B. Vitamin-D-Mangel, Hormonstörung der Nebenschilddrüse),

früher Speiseröhrenprobleme gehabt haben, zum Beispiel, wenn bei Ihnen ein Barrett-Ösophagus (krankhafte Veränderung der Zellen, die den unteren Teil der Speiseröhre auskleiden) diagnostiziert worden ist.

wenn Sie in der Vergangenheit oder gegenwärtig Schmerzen, eine Schwellung oder ein Taubheitsgefühl im Bereich des Kiefers oder ein «Schweregefühl» des Kiefers hatten bzw. haben oder ein Zahn verloren haben,

wenn Sie in zahnärztlicher Behandlung sind oder einen zahnchirurgischen Eingriff vornehmen lassen werden, informieren Sie Ihren Zahnarzt oder Zahnärztin, dass Sie mit Risedronat-Mepha behandelt werden.

Bei Auftreten von Schluckbeschwerden, Schluckschmerzen, Schmerzen hinter dem Brustbein bzw. Verschlechterung von Sodbrennen müssen Sie Risedronat-Mepha absetzen und sich an den Arzt oder die Ärztin wenden.

Es sind einzelne Arzneimittel bekannt, welche die klinische Wirkung von Risedronat-Mepha beeinflussen. Produkte die Kalzium enthalten (inklusive Nahrungsmittel, z.B. Milchprodukte), Produkte die Magnesium und Aluminium enthalten (z.B. Präparate zur Neutralisation überschüssiger Magensäure) sowie eisenhaltige Präparate können die Wirkung von Risedronat-Mepha vermindern. Diese Produkte müssen daher zu einer anderen Tageszeit als Risedronat-Mepha eingenommen werden.

Risedronat-Mepha enthält eine geringe Menge Laktose, es ist jedoch unwahrscheinlich, dass sich dies bei Patienten mit Laktoseintoleranz negativ bemerkbar macht.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!

+-Darf Risedronat-Mepha während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit darf Risedronat nicht eingenommen werden, da eine schädigende Wirkung auf den Fötus oder den Säugling nicht ausgeschlossen werden kann. Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin, wenn Sie eine Schwangerschaft planen, schwanger sein könnten oder stillen.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Risedronat-Mepha?

Zur Vorbeugung und Behandlung der Osteoporose bei Frauen und zur Behandlung bei Männern

Nehmen Sie ein Lactab Risedronat-Mepha 5 mg pro Tag oder eine Wochentablette zu 35 mg jede Woche auf leeren Magen ein (siehe «Hinweise zur Anwendung»). Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird Sie über die Dauer der Behandlung mit Risedronat-Mepha informieren. Um die volle Wirksamkeit auf die Knochendichte zu erzielen, ist eine mehrmonatige Behandlung üblich.

Bei Paget-Krankheit

Nehmen Sie eine Lactab Risedronat-Mepha 30 mg pro Tag auf leeren Magen (siehe «Hinweise zur Anwendung»). Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird Sie über die Dauer der Behandlung mit Risedronat-Mepha 30 mg informieren. Im Allgemeinen beträgt die Behandlungsdauer 2 Monate. Ein erneuter Behandlungszyklus kann zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erforderlich sein.

Hinweise zur Anwendung

Damit das Arzneimittel richtig wirkt, ist es sehr wichtig, dass Sie Risedronat-Mepha nicht mit Nahrungsmitteln, anderen Arzneimitteln oder Getränken (ausser Wasser) einnehmen.

Sie müssen Risedronat-Mepha vor dem Frühstück mindestens eine halbe Stunde vor dem ersten Essen, anderen Arzneimitteln oder Getränken (ausser Wasser) einnehmen. Ist in besonderen Fällen die Einnahme am Morgen nicht praktikabel, so kann Risedronat-Mepha zwischen den Mahlzeiten oder am Abend, stets zur selben Tageszeit, eingenommen werden. Dabei sind die folgenden Anweisungen strikt einzuhalten, um sicherzustellen, dass Risedronat-Mepha auf den leeren Magen genommen wird:

Zwischen den Mahlzeiten: mindestens 2 Stunden vor und mindestens 2 Stunden nach Aufnahme von Nahrung, anderen Arzneimitteln oder Getränken (ausser Wasser).

Am Abend: Mindestens 2 Stunden nach dem letzten Essen, anderen Arzneimitteln oder Getränken (ausser Wasser), spätestens jedoch 30 Minuten vor dem Zubettgehen.

Die Lactab müssen ganz geschluckt und sollen nicht gelutscht oder gekaut werden.

Sie müssen die Lactab in aufrechter Körperhaltung (sitzend oder stehend) mit einem Glas Wasser (mindestens 2 dl) schlucken. Nach der Lactab Einnahme dürfen Sie sich während 30 Minuten nicht hinlegen

Falls Sie die Einnahme von Risedronat-Mepha vergessen haben, kann die Lactab entsprechend den obengenannten Anweisungen statt vor dem Frühstück auch zwischen den Mahlzeiten oder am Abend eingenommen werden. Danach soll wieder zum ursprünglichen Einnahmeschema zurückgekehrt werden. Nehmen Sie nie zwei Lactab an einem Tag ein, um die vergessene Lactab nachzuholen.

Falls Sie oder sonst jemand unbeabsichtigt eine grosse Anzahl Lactab eingenommen haben, ist ein ganzes Glas Milch zu trinken und sofort medizinische Hilfe aufzusuchen.

Bitte sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin, bevor Sie Ihre Risedronat-Mepha Behandlung abbrechen.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

Die Anwendung und die Sicherheit von Risedronat wurden bei Kindern und Jugendlichen nicht untersucht.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Risedronat-Mepha haben?

Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Risedronat-Mepha auftreten:

Die häufigsten Nebenwirkungen sind Kopfschmerzen, Schmerzen im Bereich der Knochen, Gelenke und Muskeln sowie Magen-Darmstörungen (wie z.B. Bauchschmerzen, Verstopfung, Durchfall, Übelkeit). Gelegentlich können auch Entzündungen von Speiseröhre, Magen und Darm auftreten und im Einzelfall mit Schluckbeschwerden, Schmerzen hinter dem Brustbein, verstärktem Sodbrennen oder Ulkusbildung verbunden sein. Selten resp. gelegentlich sind auch Entzündungen der Zunge und der Regenbogenhaut des Auges vorgekommen.

Sehr selten sind Überempfindlichkeits- und Hautreaktionen aufgetreten (einschliesslich Gesichtsschwellungen und generalisiertem oder blasigem Hautausschlag), welche vereinzelt schwerwiegend sein können. In sehr seltenen Fällen wird eine Entzündung des Auges, im Allgemeinen verbunden mit Schmerzen, Rötung und Lichtempfindlichkeit, beobachtet. Kieferprobleme, verbunden mit einer verzögerten Heilung und einer Infektion, oft nach einer Zahnextraktion, werden in sehr seltenen Fällen beobachtet. Informieren Sie in diesen Fällen sofort Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin.

Ausserdem ist bei Blutuntersuchungen in seltenen Fällen ein Anstieg der Leberenzyme und ? zu Beginn der Behandlung ? eine Verminderung der Kalzium- und Phosphatwerte gefunden worden.

Insbesondere bei Patienten bzw. Patientinnen unter Langzeitbehandlung gegen Osteoporose können in sehr seltenen Fällen ungewöhnliche Frakturen des Oberschenkelknochens auftreten. Bitte wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, falls Sie Schmerzen, Schwäche oder Unbehagen im Oberschenkel, der Hüfte oder der Leistengegend verspüren, da dies frühe Anzeichen einer möglichen Fraktur des Oberschenkelknochens sein können.

Wenn Sie eines der oben genannten Symptome beobachten oder Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

Das Arzneimittel ist bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren.

Es darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
