Repaglinide Zentiva ist ein orales Antidiabetikum mit dem Wirkstoff Repaglinide zur Senkung des erhöhten Blutzuckers beim Typ-2-Diabetes. Bei dieser Erkrankung produziert die Bauchspeicheldrüse nicht mehr ausreichend Insulin für die Einstellung des Blutzuckerspiegels. Repaglinide Zentiva regt die Insulinproduktion in der Bauchspeicheldrüse während den Mahlzeiten an und dient deshalb zur Einstellung Ihres Diabetes. Die Behandlung mit Repaglinide Zentiva muss von einer Diät, einer allfälligen Gewichtsreduktion und ausreichender körperlicher Bewegung begleitet sein.
Eine Behandlung mit Repaglinide Zentiva sollte nur begonnen werden, wenn die Blutzuckerwerte durch die Einhaltung einer Diät, durch Gewichtsreduktion und körperliche Bewegung alleine nicht kontrolliert werden können.
Repaglinide Zentiva kann auch in Kombination mit den ebenfalls blutzuckersenkenden Arzneimitteln Metformin, Pioglitazon oder Insulin eingenommen werden.
Repaglinide Zentiva darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Die gute Blutzuckereinstellung hängt nicht nur von der Tablettenbehandlung ab, sondern entscheidend sind auch die Einhaltung der Diät, Gewichtsreduktion und ausreichende körperliche Aktivität. Befolgen Sie deshalb die diesbezüglichen Anweisungen Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder der Diabetesberatung.
Blut- und Urinzuckerspiegel sollten während der Behandlung überwacht und regelmässig kontrolliert werden.
Repaglinide Zentiva darf nicht angewendet werden
bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegen den Wirkstoff Repaglinide oder einen der Hilfsstoffe von Repaglinide Zentiva;
bei Typ-1-Diabetes;
bei diabetischer Ketoazidose (mit oder ohne Koma);
bei Bestehen einer Schwangerschaft oder vor einer geplanten Schwangerschaft;
während der Stillzeit;
bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren;
wenn Sie eine schwere Leberkrankheit haben.
Ferner darf Repaglinide Zentiva nicht gleichzeitig mit Gemfibrozil, einem Arzneimittel, das die Blutfette senkt, eingenommen werden.
Wie andere orale Antidiabetika kann Repaglinide Zentiva eine Unterzuckerung (Hypoglykämie) verursachen. Die Gefahr einer Unterzuckerung ist bei Kombination von Repaglinide Zentiva mit anderen blutzuckersenkenden Arzneimitteln erhöht.

Zu hoher Blutzucker
Die Warnzeichen treten allmählich auf: starkes Durstgefühl, Mundtrockenheit, häufiges Wasserlassen und trockene Haut. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn bei Ihnen solche Symptome auftreten, damit er mit Ihnen Ihre Diät besprechen oder die Tabletteneinnahme korrigieren kann.
Zu tiefer Blutzucker: u.a. Heisshunger, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Schwitzen, Zittern, Unruhe, Reizbarkeit, Kopfschmerzen, Schlafstörungen, Verwirrtheit, Schwindel, Herzklopfen. Diese Zustände lassen sich häufig rasch durch Einnahme von Zucker (z.B. Würfelzucker: 2?4 Stück, süsse Fruchtsäfte oder gezuckerten Tee) beheben. Beachten Sie, dass künstliche Süssstoffe unwirksam sind.
Wird die Behandlung des tiefen Blutzuckers unterlassen, kann es infolge extremer Blutzuckersenkungen zu Sprech- und Sehstörungen, Lähmungserscheinungen oder Empfindungsstörungen und Bewusstlosigkeit kommen. Wenn die Anzeichen einer Unterzuckerung nicht verschwinden, informieren Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Dieses Arzneimittel respektive ein nicht richtig eingestellter Zucker können die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen!
Sie sollten Vorsichtsmassnahmen ergreifen, um eine Hypoglykämie (Unterzuckerung) während des Lenkens eines Fahrzeuges oder beim Bedienen von Maschinen zu vermeiden. Das ist besonders dann wichtig, wenn bei Ihnen die Anzeichen einer Hypoglykämie nur schwach ausgeprägt sind oder fehlen oder wenn bei Ihnen häufig Hypoglykämien auftreten. In diesen Fällen sollten Sie in Betracht ziehen, das Lenken eines Fahrzeuges oder das Bedienen von Maschinen zu unterlassen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin vor der Einnahme von Repaglinide Zentiva, wenn Sie an einer Leber- oder Nierenerkrankung leiden, über geplante grössere chirurgische Eingriffe oder kürzlich durchgemachte schwere Krankheiten bzw. Infektionen. In diesen Fällen muss Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin entscheiden, ob eine Behandlung mit Repaglinide Zentiva möglich ist.
Die gleichzeitige Einnahme von anderen Arzneimitteln kann die Wirkung von Repaglinide Zentiva auf den Blutzucker beeinflussen. Beispiele hierfür sind: Gemfibrozil, (Blutfettsenker), Ketoconazol und Itraconazol (zur Behandlung von Pilzerkrankungen), Monoaminooxidasehemmer (zur Behandlung von Depressionen und Parkinson-Krankheit), nicht-selektive Beta-Rezeptorenblocker (zur Behandlung von Bluthochdruck und bestimmten Herzerkrankungen), Angiotensin Converting Enzym (ACE)-Hemmer (zur Behandlung von Bluthochdruck und bestimmten Herzerkrankungen), Salizylate (z.B. Aspirin) und andere nicht-steroidale Entzündungshemmer (zur Behandlung von Schmerzen und rheumatischen Erkrankungen), anabole Steroide (muskelaufbauende Hormone) oder Kortikoide (Cortison), Octreotid (zur Behandlung von übermässigem Wachstum und Störungen des Magen-Darm-Traktes), orale Kontrazeptiva (Empfängnisverhütungsmittel), Thiazide (harntreibende Mittel zur Behandlung von Bluthochdruck), Schilddrüsenhormone (zur Behandlung einer Schilddrüsenunterfunktion), Sympathomimetika (u.a. zur Behandlung von Asthma), Clarithromycin, Trimethoprim oder Rifampicin (Antibiotika), Ciclosporin (Immunsuppressivum zur Unterdrückung von Reaktionen des Immunsystems). Deferasirox (zur Behandlung chronischer Eisenüberladung). Betablocker können auch die Warnzeichen einer Unterzuckerung verschleiern. Alkohol kann ebenfalls die Wirkung von Repaglinide Zentiva beeinflussen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie eines der genannten Arzneimittel einnehmen; er wird je nach Fall eventuell eine Dosisanpassung vornehmen und den Blutzuckerspiegel genauer überwachen. Wenn Sie Gemfibrozil einnehmen, dürfen Sie nicht gleichzeitig Repaglinide Zentiva anwenden, da die Wirkung von Repaglinide Zentiva durch dieses Arzneimittel erheblich verstärkt und verlängert werden kann (siehe auch Wann darf Repaglinide Zentiva nicht angewendet werden?»).
Da bisher noch keine Studien bei Patienten über 75 Jahren durchgeführt wurden, ist eine Therapie bei diesen Patienten nicht zu empfehlen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie
·an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
·Allergien haben oder
·andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Repaglinide Zentiva darf während der Schwangerschaft und der Stillzeit nicht eingenommen werden. Wenn Sie vermuten, schwanger zu sein oder beabsichtigen, schwanger zu werden, wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Während der Schwangerschaft wird zur Behandlung des Diabetes Insulin verordnet.
Es ist wichtig, dass Sie die Dosierungsanweisungen Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin genau befolgen. Erhöhen oder reduzieren Sie keinesfalls eigenmächtig die von Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin verordnete Dosis.
Repaglinide Zentiva wird vor jeder Hauptmahlzeit eingenommen. Nehmen Sie die Tabletten mit einem Glas Wasser ein. Die Anfangsdosis wird von Ihrem Arzt bzw. von Ihrer Ärztin festgelegt und beträgt in der Regel 0,5 mg vor jeder Hauptmahlzeit und kann im weiteren Behandlungsverlauf durch Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin bis auf 4 mg vor jeder Hauptmahlzeit erhöht werden. Die empfohlene Tageshöchstdosis beträgt 12 mg.
Repaglinide Zentiva kann von Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin auch zusammen mit Metformin, Pioglitazon oder einer abendlichen Injektion von Insulin verordnet werden.
Falls Sie die Einahme einer Tablette vor einer Mahlzeit einmal vergessen sollten, nehmen Sie einfach zur nächsten Mahlzeit die nächste Dosis ein. Verdoppeln Sie die Dosis nicht.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Häufig gemeldete Nebenwirkungen
·Unterzuckerung. Das Risiko, eine Unterzuckerung zu bekommen, kann sich erhöhen, wenn Sie andere Arzneimittel einnehmen/anwenden.Wie andere orale Antidiabetika kann Repaglinide Zentiva eine Unterzuckerung (Hypoglykämie) auslösen, die sich mit Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel, Müdigkeit, Herzklopfen, Unruhe und Zittern, Übelkeit, kaltem Schweiss oder Heisshunger äussert.
Treten diese Symptome auf, sollten Sie sofort Zucker bzw. Traubenzucker oder ein zuckerhaltiges Getränk und anschliessend kohlenhydratreiche Nahrung (Brot/Obst u.a.) zu sich nehmen. Ruhen Sie sich anschliessend aus. Verschlechtert sich Ihr Zustand, verständigen Sie umgehend Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder die Notfallstation des nächstgelegenen Spitals. Wird eine Unterzuckerung nicht unverzüglich behandelt, kann diese schwerwiegende Folgen haben und Sprech- und Sehstörungen, Lähmungserscheinungen, Empfindungsstörungen, Ohnmacht und weitere schwerwiegende Störungen verursachen.

·Allergien. Symptome wie Schwellungen, Atemnot, Herzklopfen, Schwindel und Schweissausbrüche können Zeichen einer anaphylaktischen Reaktion sein. Wenden Sie sich sofort an einen Arzt bzw. an eine Ärztin.

Verstopfung (Obstipation).
·Sehstörungen
schwere Lebererkrankungen, Leberfunktionsstörungen, erhöhte Leberenzymwerte im Blut.
Häufigkeit nicht bekannt
·Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen (z.B. Ausschlag, juckende Haut, Hautrötung, Schwellung der Haut).
·Unwohlsein (Übelkeit).Vor allem in Kombination mit Pioglitazon kann es zu einer Gewichtszunahme kommen.

Dieses Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «Exp.» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
