Pivalone Compositum enthält zwei wirksame Substanzen: das Tixocortol-Pivalat, welches die Entzündung örtlich bekämpft, und Neomycin, ein Antibiotikum, welches die Behandlung von örtlichen Infektionen erlaubt, die durch auf diese Substanz empfindliche Keime hervorgerufen wurden. Pivalone Compositum eignet sich für die Behandlung von chronischen oder saisonbedingten allergischen Erkrankungen der Nase und der Nasennebenhöhlen oder für alle Entzündungen in der Nase, die mit einer bakteriellen Superinfektion einhergehen. Pivalone Compositum eignet sich auch für die Behandlung einer leichten Polypenbildung in der Nase oder in den Nasennebenhöhlen. Weiterhin kann es für die Folgen einer operativen Entfernung von Polypen in der Nase und den Nasennebenhöhlen angewendet werden.
Pivalone Compositum darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes bzw. der Ärztin angewendet werden.
Pivalone Compositum darf nicht von Personen angewendet werden, die auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe des Produkts bereits einmal eine allergische Reaktion, wie eine örtliche Schwellung oder ein örtliches Unbehagen, entwickelt haben.
Es empfiehlt sich, Pivalone Compositum nicht über längere Zeit ohne das Einverständnis Ihres Arztes bzw. Ihrer Ärztin anzuwenden.
Im Falle eines übermässigen oder längeren Gebrauchs beim Kind, kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden, dass die Behandlung eine Wachstumsverzögerung hervorrufen kann. Deshalb wird der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin sorgfältig das Wachstum der über längere Zeit mit Pivalone Compositum behandelten Kinder überwachen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Der Nutzen einer Glukokortikoid-Behandlung beim Kind muss sorgfältig gegen die eventuellen Risiken einer Wachstumsverzögerung abgewogen werden.
Im Falle einer Schwangerschaft oder wenn Sie stillen, fragen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin um Rat, er bzw. sie wird über die Zweckmässigkeit der Medikation bestimmen.
Wenn vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet:
Erwachsene und Kinder: 1?2 Sprühstösse in jede Nasenöffnung 4× tgl.
Die Behandlung sollte 2 bis 3 Wochen nicht übersteigen.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Befolgen Sie die Anwendungshinweise genau:
1. Das Dosierfläschchen 5?6-mal wenden hin und her bewegen. Die Schutzkappe entfernen.
2. Durch mehrmaliges Pumpen einen gleichmässigen Sprühstoss herbeiführen.
3. Die Sprühöffnung senkrecht in die Nasenöffnung einführen und kräftig drücken
Wichtig: Vor Gebrauch schütteln.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Pivalone Compositum auftreten:
Zu Beginn der Behandlung können örtliche Unverträglichkeitsreaktionen (leichtes Stechen) auftreten. Über ein Gefühl von Trockenheit in der Nase ist ebenfalls berichtet worden. Örtliche allergische Reaktionen sind ebenfalls beobachtet worden. Sie machen sich durch eine örtlich begrenzte Anschwellung (Ödem) oder Behinderung bemerkbar.
Sollten Sie solche Veränderungen beobachten, informieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
Pivalone Compositum bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Wenn Sie über einen Nasenspray verfügen, dessen Verfalldatum abgelaufen ist, bringen Sie ihn Ihrem Apotheker bzw. Ihrer Apothekerin zurück.
Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin. Diese Personen verfügen über die ausführliche Fachinformation.
1 g Pivalone Compositum Suspension enthält: 10 mg Tixocortol-Pivalat, 3,5 mg Neomycin-Base (als Sulfat), N-Cetylpyridinium (Konservierungsmittel) und Benzylalkohol.
