Mannite Actipharm enthält Mannitol, einen Zucker der von Organismus nur sehr wenig absorbiert wird. In einem Getränk aufgelöst, bewirkt er in dem Darm einen Wasseranstieg im Stuhlgang, was diesen sperriger und weicher werden lässt und das Ausscheiden erleichtert.
Mannite Actipharm wird im Fall von gelegentlicher Verstopfung bei Kindern angewendet.
Wenn das Kind an Verstopfung leidet, sollte es ballaststoffreiche Nährung (Gemüse, Früchte, Vollkornbrot) sowie viel und regelmässig Flüssigkeit einnehmen und sich körperlich betätigen.
Mannite Actipharm sollte nicht verwendet werden, wenn das Kind sich über Bauchschmerzen beklagt, deren Ursachen unbekannt sind, oder wenn die Einnahme eines Abführmittel (oder Klistier) vom Arzt untersagt wurde. Mannite Actipharm sollte bei Patientinnen und Patienten mit bekannter Überempfindlichkeit gegen den Wirkstoff nicht angewendet werden.
Dieses Arzneimitel darf nicht über einen längeren Zeitraum eingenommen werden, da dies zu einem Verlust an Wasser und an lebenswichtigen Mineralien wie Kalium führen kann.
Es ist wichtig Mannite Actipharm mit genug Flüssigkeit (Wasser, Milch) einzunehmen.
Bei anhaltender Stuhlverstopfung sollte ein Arzt aufgesucht werden.

Säuglinge (4 bis 8 kg): 1 Beutel.

Kinder über 20 kg: 3 Beutel.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder von dem Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung.
Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Die Einnahme von Mannite Actipharm kann die folgende Nebenwirkungen haben:
Vollgefühl, Blähungen oder Übelkeit. Es können hydroelektrolytische Verluste, besonders bei einer langzeitiger Verwendung und bei hohen Dosen beobachtet werden. Der Kaliumverlust kann eine Muskelschwäche hervorrufen.
