Klean-Prep wird Ihnen von Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin verschrieben und dient der vollständigen Entleerung des Darms, wie dies vor einer endoskopischen oder radiologischen Untersuchung sowie vor einer Operation erforderlich ist.
Auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin.
Klean-Prep darf nicht angewendet werden, wenn Sie oder Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin vermuten, dass:
Klean-Prep darf nicht bei Kindern unter 5 Jahren oder mit einem Körpergewicht unter 20 kg angewendet werden.
Klean-Prep enthält Aspartam als Quelle für Phenylalanin und kann schädlich sein, wenn Sie unter Phenylketonurie leiden.
Patienten mit beeinträchtigtem Würge- und Schluckreflex, Speiseröhrenentzündung (mit Aufstossen von Säure, Sodbrennen, Schmerzen beim Schlucken usw.), beeinträchtigtem Bewusstsein oder Patienten, die zum Aspirieren oder Erbrechen neigen, sollten Klean-Prep mit Vorsicht anwenden und müssen während der Verabreichung von Klean-Prep sorgfältig überwacht werden, besonders bei Verabreichung über eine Nasogastralsonde.
Obwohl durch die isotonische Zusammensetzung des Produktes nicht zu erwarten, wurde bei Risikopatienten in seltenen Fällen von Elektrolytstörungen berichtet. Daher sollte Klean-Prep mit Vorsicht bei Patienten angewendet werden, die einem Risiko für Elektrolytstörungen unterliegen, wie beispielsweise Patienten mit Niereninsuffizienz, kardialer Beeinträchtigung (NYHA-Stadium I und II), Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen, Herzrhythmusstörungen oder Herzklopfen oder bei Patienten, die gleichzeitig mit Diuretika behandelt werden.
Es wurde über Konvulsionen in Kombination mit schwerwiegender Hyponatriämie bei Patienten berichtet, welche Klean-Prep eingenommen haben. In Verbindung mit Hyponatriämie können bei Patienten auch Verwirrtheit bzw. Desorientiertheit auftreten.
Bei geschwächten, gebrechlichen oder älteren Personen sollte das Produkt nur mit Vorsicht unter ärztlicher Aufsicht verabreicht werden.
Bei Auftreten eines Blähbauchs (abdominelle Aufblähung) oder Schmerzen ist die Einnahme zu verlangsamen oder vorübergehend einzustellen, bis die Beschwerden abklingen.
Bei Kindern unter 5 Jahren oder mit einem Körpergewicht von unter 20 kg darf das Arzneimittel nicht eingesetzt werden. Bei grösseren Kindern legt der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin jeweils die erforderlichen Vorsichtsmassnahmen fest.
Aufgrund der pharmakologischen Wirkung kann Klean-Prep die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit Maschinen zu bedienen, beinträchtigen, weshalb in solchen Fällen Vorsicht geboten ist.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen bzw. vor kurzem eingenommen haben oder äusserlich anwenden!
Arzneimittel (z.B. orale empfängnisverhütende Medikamente), innerhalb einer Stunde nach Einnahme von Klean-Prep eingenommen, können aus dem Magen-Darm-Trakt ausgeschwemmt und nicht aufgenommen werden.
Die Einnahme der zubereiteten Klean-Prep Lösung ersetzt nicht die reguläre Flüssigkeitszufuhr; diese muss weiterhin gewährleistet sein.
Über die Anwendung während Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit liegen keine Erkenntnisse vor. Klean-Prep darf nur angewendet werden, wenn es der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin für notwendig hält.
Es liegen keine Daten über den Übertritt von Macrogol 3350 in die Muttermilch vor. Da Macrogol 3350 nur schlecht absorbiert wird, kann das Präparat verabreicht werden, wenn dies vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin als essenziell notwendig erachtet wird.
Wenn Sie schwanger sind oder stillen, müssen Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin davon in Kenntnis setzen.
Jedes Pulverpäckchen Klean-Prep muss in einem Liter Wasser aufgelöst werden. Die übliche Dosierung beträgt 3 bis 4 Liter Lösung (1 l pro 15 bis 20 kg Körpergewicht), wobei die ersten zwei Liter am Vorabend und die letzten beiden Liter im Verlaufe der 3 bis 4 Stunden vor der Untersuchung einzunehmen sind.
Mindestens zwei Stunden vor Einnahme der Klean-Prep Lösung bis nach Abschluss der Untersuchung sollte keine feste Nahrung eingenommen werden.
Nach der Einnahme des letzten Liters Klean-Prep sollte bis zum Beginn der Untersuchung mindestens 1 Stunde verstreichen, um eine vollständige Darmentleerung zu gewährleisten.
Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird Ihnen genau erklären, wie Sie Klean-Prep einnehmen müssen.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Bei starker Überdosierung tritt schwerer Durchfall auf. Trinken Sie reichlich Flüssigkeit, insbesondere Obstsäfte und wenden Sie sich sofort an Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Unerwünschte Wirkungen treten vorwiegend im Verdauungstrakt (Gastrointestinalbereich) auf.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Klean-Prep auftreten:
Nasenfluss (laufende Nase), Nesselsucht (Urtikaria), Hautausschlag,
Allergische Reaktionen einschliesslich anaphylaktische Reaktionen, Atemnot, Hautreaktionen, Dehydrierung, Störungen des Elektrolythaushaltes, insbesondere verminderte Kalium- und Natriumkonzentration im Blut. Diese Störungen treten häufiger bei Patienten auf, die gleichzeitig die Nieren beeinträchtigende Medikamente wie beispielsweise ACE-Hemmer und Diuretika einnehmen.
Krampfanfälle, Kopfschmerzen, Verwirrtheit/Desorientiertheit, Schwindel, Erbrechen, Übelkeit, Bauchschmerzen, Blähbauch (abdominelle Aufblähung), Blähungen, Beschwerden im Analbereich, Gewebsschwellungen (angioneurotisches Ödem), Juckreiz, Hautrötung, Muskelzittern/Frösteln, Unwohlsein, Fieber, Durst.
Im Zusammenhang mit Darmvorbereitungen wurden vorübergehende Blutdruckerhöhung, Herzrhythmusstörungen und Herzklopfen beobachtet.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
Der starke Durchfall, den Klean-Prep auslöst, ist die erwünschte Wirkung des Produkts und ist für die vollständige Entleerung des Darmes notwendig. Klean-Prep muss bei Raumtemperatur (15 °C ? 25 °C) und vor Licht geschützt an einem kühlen, trockenen Ort und für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahrt werden. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird Ihnen vor der Untersuchung einige Verhaltensregeln und eine strikte Diät verschreiben. Halten Sie sich bitte genau an diese Vorschriften.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf den Pulverpäckchen mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Ist die Trinklösung einmal zubereitet (Auflösung eines Pulverpäckchens in einem Liter Wasser), kann sie im Kühlschrank (4 °C) bis zu 48 Stunden aufbewahrt werden.
