Ketozol-Mepha Shampoo ist ein Arzneimittel, das Pilze, die die Haut befallen, vernichtet.
Ketozol-Mepha wird zur Behandlung von Erkrankungen mit dem Hefepilz Pityrosporum ovale, wie z.B. seborrhoischem «Ekzem» verwendet. Mit Ketozol-Mepha Shampoo kann die Kopfhaut behandelt werden.
Ketozol-Mepha dient auch zur Vermeidung von Rückfällen dieser Erkrankungen.
Ketozol-Mepha besitzt zusätzlich Eigenschaften, welche Schuppen und Juckreiz, die oft zusammen mit seborrhoischem «Ekzem» auftreten, rasch bessern.
Der pH-Wert von Ketozol-Mepha Shampoo liegt mit ca. 6,0 im normalen pH-Bereich der Haut.
Ketozol-Mepha wird auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin angewendet.
Wenn Sie auf einen der Inhaltsstoffe von Ketozol-Mepha Shampoo oder auf andere Imidazol-Derivate allergisch reagieren, sollten Sie es nicht anwenden. Symptome einer Überempfindlichkeit sind Juckreiz oder Rötung der Haut, die nach der Anwendung erscheinen.
Wie bei anderen Shampoos ist der Kontakt mit den Augen zu vermeiden. Sollte dies passieren, Augen gründlich mit viel Wasser ausspülen.
Wenn Sie zurzeit ein kortikosteroidhaltiges Arzneimittel zur äusserlichen Anwendung verwenden, sollten Sie dies unbedingt Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin mitteilen. Er oder sie wird dann entscheiden, wann und wie Sie mit der Behandlung mit Ketozol-Mepha beginnen sollen.
Seborrhoisches Ekzem wird häufig von verstärktem Haarausfall begleitet. Auch unter Behandlung mit Ketozol-Mepha Shampoo wurde dies in seltenen Fällen beobachtet. Es ist nicht bekannt, ob der Haarausfall auf die Grunderkrankung, die Behandlung oder eine Kombination dieser beiden Faktoren zurückzuführen ist.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie, an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden.
Es existieren keine kontrollierten Studien zur Anwendung von Ketozol-Mepha Shampoo während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit. Da jedoch der Wirkstoff nach topischer Applikation von Ketoconazol Shampoo auf die Kopfhaut nicht messbar aufgenommen in die Blutbahn wird, erscheint das Risiko für das Ungeborene und den Säugling bei einer adäquaten Anwendung während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit vernachlässigbar.
Trotzdem sollten Sie, wenn Sie schwanger sind, es werden möchten oder stillen, vorher Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin nehmen.

Anfangsbehandlung: 2× wöchentlich während 2-4 Wochen anwenden.
Zur Vermeidung von Rückfällen: 1× alle 1-2 Wochen während 4 Wochen, dann gemäss ärztlicher Verordnung.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Ketozol-Mepha bei Kindern unter 12 Jahren ist bisher nicht geprüft worden.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Ketozol-Mepha auftreten:
Gelegentlich: Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen wie plötzliche Schwellungen von Haut oder Schleimhäuten, Geschmackstörungen, Reizung der Augen (Augenirritationen), vermehrter Tränenfluss, gerötete, trockene oder überempfindliche Haut, Hautauschlag, schuppende/schälende Haut, Brennen der Haut, Akne, lokales Ekzem, Entzündungen am Haarfollikel (Follikulitis), Veränderung der Haarstruktur (z.B. fettiges Haar, trockenes Haar), Haarausfall (Alopezie) sowie Reaktionen an der Applikationsstelle wie mit Eiter gefüllte Bläschen (Pusteln), Juckreiz (Pruritus) oder Hautreizungen.
In sehr seltenen Fällen können Nesselsucht oder Veränderungen der Haarfarbe auftreten.
Beim Gebrauch von Ketozol-Mepha unmittelbar nach einer langdauernden äusserlichen Anwendung kortikosteroidhaltiger Arzneimittel kann eine Hautreizung auftreten (siehe «Wann ist bei der Anwendung von Ketozol-Mepha Vorsicht geboten?»).
Ketozol-Mepha Shampoo sollte nicht eingenommen werden. Wurde Ketozol-Mepha Shampoo versehentlich eingenommen, nehmen Sie bitte Kontakt mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin auf. Falls notwendig, wird er oder sie unterstützende Massnahmen ergreifen. Um jedoch eine Aspiration (unbeabsichtigtes Einatmen in die Luftröhre) zu vermeiden, soll kein Erbrechen ausgelöst und keine Magenspülung durchgeführt werden.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Ihre Apothekerin informieren.
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Flasche stets gut verschlossen wird.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
