Hirudoid Gel enthält den Wirkstoff Mucopolysaccharidpolysulfat (Heparinoidum MPS). Dieser beugt der Entstehung von Blutgerinnseln vor und fördert deren Rückbildung. Ausserdem werden Entzündungsprozesse und Flüssigkeitsansammlungen im Gewebe beseitigt.
Nach Anwendung von Hirudoid Gel lassen Gewebespannung und die damit verbundenen Schmerzen nach, Schwellungen und Blutergüsse gehen zurück, die Schwere in den Beinen wird gelindert.
Hirudoid Gel wird angewendet:
Das Gel hat einen kühlenden Effekt.
Auf ärztliche Verschreibung kann Hirudoid Gel auch
angewendet werden.
Sie können die Behandlung Ihrer Venenerkrankung unterstützen, indem Sie auf ausreichende Bewegung achten. Langes Sitzen oder Stehen verursacht Stauungen und belastet Ihre Venen. Vermeiden Sie auch zusätzliche Belastungen wie Alkohol und Zigaretten im Übermass, schwere oder blähende Kost, Übergewicht sowie Überhitzung durch Sonnenbaden und übertriebene Anwendung der Sauna.
Befolgen Sie auch die Ratschläge Ihres Arztes oder Ihrer Ärztin, die über die Anwendung von Hirudoid hinausgehen, wie z.B. Gymnastik oder das Tragen von Stützstrümpfen.
Hirudoid Gel soll nicht angewendet werden bei Patienten mit einer bekannten Überempfindlichkeit gegen Heparinoid oder einen der anderen Hilfsstoffe.
Hirudoid Gel darf nur auf intakter Haut angewendet werden. Bitte achten Sie darauf, dass das Gel nicht mit offenen Wunden, den Augen oder der Schleimhaut in Berührung kommt.
Bei Venenerkrankungen, die auf das Vorliegen eines Blutpfropfes (sogenannte Thromboembolie) zurückgehen, darf nicht massiert werden.
Wenn Ihre Beschwerden länger fortbestehen oder wenn sich die Symptome verschlechtern, sollten Sie auf jeden Fall einen Arzt oder eine Ärztin aufsuchen.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Aufgrund der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das ungeborene Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten, bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Soweit vom Arzt oder der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet, mehrmals täglich einen Gelstrang von 3?5 cm (bei Bedarf auch mehr) auftragen. Bei thromboembolischen Erkrankungen (Blutpfropf) darf jedoch nicht massiert werden.
Bei der Tube zu 100 g ist wegen der grösseren Tubenöffnung nur etwa ein Drittel der angegebenen Länge des Gelstranges (d.h. 1?2 cm) anzuwenden.
Wie bei allen alkoholhaltigen Gelen sollten Sie auch über Hirudoid Gel keinen Verband anlegen. Für die Anwendung unter Verbänden steht Hirudoid Creme zur Verfügung.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Hirudoid Gel bei Kindern ist bisher nicht systematisch geprüft worden.
Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebene oder vom Arzt oder der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Anwendung von Hirudoid Gel auftreten:
In seltenen Fällen kann es zu Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen der Haut (Allergie) kommen. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie entsprechende Anzeichen beobachten. Bei stärkeren Reizerscheinungen sollten Sie Hirudoid Gel nicht mehr anwenden.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin informieren.
Die Aluminiumfolie an der Öffnung der Tube lässt sich mit dem in der Verschlusskappe eingelassenen Dorn leicht durchstossen.
Hirudoid Gel darf nur bis zu dem auf der Tube mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
Arzneimittel sind an einem trockenen Ort und ausserhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufzubewahren.
Bei Raumtemperatur (15?25 °C) lagern.
