Grazax wird bei Erwachsenen und bei Kindern (5 Jahre oder älter) zur Behandlung von Schnupfen und Bindehautentzündung bei Allergien auf Gräserpollen angewendet. Grazax enthält als Wirkstoff einen Extrakt von Wiesenlieschgras-Pollen (Phleum pratense).
Die Einnahme von Grazax bewirkt eine Erhöhung der immunologischen Toleranz gegen Gräserpollen. Dadurch werden allergische Symptome verhindert.
Grazax liegt in einer speziellen Darreichungsform vor: Es handelt sich um eine gefriergetrocknete Tablette, die, einmal unter die Zunge gelegt, sich sehr schnell auflöst.
Grazax ist nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin erhältlich.
Wenn Sie auf einen der Hilfsstoffe allergisch reagieren.
Wenn bei Ihnen eine Erkrankung des Immunsystems vorliegt.
Wenn Sie schweres Asthma haben.
Vorsicht ist geboten, wenn Ihre Mundschleimhaut schwer entzündet ist.
Nach einer Zahnextraktion (Zahn ziehen), einem anderen operativen Eingriff in der Mundhöhle oder Ausfall eines Milchzahnes bei Kindern, sollten Sie die Einnahme von Grazax für 7 Tage unterbrechen, damit Ihre Mundhöhle heilen kann.
Bei Kindern, die gleichzeitig Asthma und eine akute Infektion der oberen Atemwege haben, muss die Behandlung bis zum Abklingen der Infektion unterbrochen werden.
Besondere Vorsicht ist geboten, wenn Sie bereits eine allergische Reaktion im Zusammenhang mit einer Injektion eines Gräser-Allergenextraktes hatten.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!
Während einer Schwangerschaft sollen grundsätzlich keine Arzneimittel eingenommen werden.
Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin, wenn Sie schwanger sind oder schwanger werden und Grazax einnehmen oder eine Behandlung mit Grazax ins Auge fassen. Er/sie wird über den Beginn oder die Weiterführung der Behandlung entscheiden.

Falls nicht anders verordnet, beträgt die empfohlene Dosierung 1 Dosis (Tablette) Grazax einmal täglich.
Die erste Tablette sollte unter ärztlicher Aufsicht eingenommen werden, damit mögliche Nebenwirkungen mit Ihrem Arzt oder Ihrer Ärztin besprochen werden können. Da gelegentlich rasch nach Tabletteneinnahme Schwellungen im Mund- und Rachenbereich auftreten, die selten einmal zu Atembehinderung führen können, müssen Kinder unter 12 Jahren nach Einnahme der Tabletten noch mindestens eine halbe Stunde unter der Aufsicht einer erwachsenen Person bleiben.
Um die beste Wirkung zu erhalten, sollte die Behandlung mindestens 8 Wochen vor der Gräserpollen-Saison begonnen werden, und die Therapie während der ganzen Gräserpollen-Saison durchgeführt werden.
Grazax ist eine gefriergetrocknete Tablette. Vergewissern Sie sich daher, dass Ihre Hände trocken sind, bevor Sie die Tablette handhaben:
Die Tablette vorsichtig aus dem Blister entnehmen. Dabei die Schutzfolie abziehen und die Tablette nicht durch die Folie drücken, sie könnte sonst brechen. Die Tablette sofort einnehmen, da sie feuchtigkeitsempfindlich ist. Die Tablette unter die Zunge legen, wo sie sich auflösen wird. Für ungefähr eine Minute nicht hinunterschlucken. Anschliessend für mindestens 5 Minuten nichts essen und trinken.
Wenn Sie mehr Grazax eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten
Wenn Sie zu viele Grazax Tabletten eingenommen haben, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder an ein Krankenhaus.
Wenn Sie vergessen haben Grazax einzunehmen
Wenn Sie die Einnahme einer Tablette vergessen haben, holen Sie diese nach, sobald Sie sich erinnern. Nehmen Sie nicht eine doppelte Dosis, um die vergessene nachzuholen, sondern nehmen Sie anschliessend die tägliche Dosis zur gewohnten Zeit ein.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Grazax auftreten:
Die Nebenwirkungen können eine allergische Reaktion auf das Allergen sein, das in Grazax enthalten ist. In den meisten Fällen dauern diese Nebenwirkungen Minuten bis Stunden nach Einnahme der Tablette und verschwinden innerhalb einer Woche nach Behandlungsbeginn.
Setzen Sie Grazax ab und kontaktieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt oder Ärztin oder ein Krankenhaus wenn eine der folgenden Nebenwirkungen auftritt:
?Gesicht-, Mund- oder Halsschwellung,
?Schluckschwierigkeiten,
?Atemschwierigkeiten,
?Stimmveränderungen,
?Verschlimmerung eines bestehenden Asthmas,
?Starkes Unwohlsein.
Bei anhaltendem Sodbrennen sollten Sie Ihren Arzt kontaktieren.

Häufig (können bei bis zu 1 von 10 Personen auftreten): Kopfschmerzen, Kribbeln auf der Haut, juckende Augen, Bindehautentzündung, Juckreiz in den Ohren, Niesen, Asthmasymptome, Husten, trockener Hals, Atemnot, Nasenbeschwerden, verstopfte Nase, Schwellung, Bläschenbildung oder andere Beschwerden im Mund, auf der Zunge oder im Hals, laufende Nase, Entzündung der Nase, Schwellung der Lippen, Kribbeln oder Taubheit im Mund und auf der Zunge, Entzündungen im Mund, Schwierigkeiten beim Schlucken, Zungenbeschwerden, Magenschmerzen, Durchfall, Sodbrennen, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Juckreiz, Nesselausschlag, Ekzem, Hautausschlag, Müdigkeit, Beschwerden in der Brust, Fieber.
Gelegentlich (kann bei bis zu 1 von 100 Personen auftreten): Lymphknotenvergrösserung, Schwindel, Geschmacksstörung, Rötung der Augen, erhöhter Tränenfluss, Schwellung der Augen, Augenschmerzen, Ohrbeschwerden, Herzklopfen, Heiserkeit, Engegefühl im Hals, Rötung im Hals, Gefühllosigkeit im Hals, Schwellung der Mandeln, pfeifender Atem, allergische Reaktion, saisonale allergische Beschwerden, Rötung der Mundschleimhaut, Schwellung des Gaumens, Mundtrockenheit, Lippenbläschen, Schmerzen im Mund, Störungen der Speicheldrüsen, Zahnfleischbeschwerden, Magenentzündung, Aufstossen, verminderter Appetit, Gesichtsschwellung, Rötung der Haut, Hitzegefühl, Brustschmerzen, Unwohlsein, Fremdkörpergefühl im Hals.
Selten (kann bei bis zu 1 von 1000 Personen auftreten): Verengung der unteren Atemwege.
Rötung der Augen, Ohrenbeschwerden, Lippenbläschen, Zahnfleischbeschwerden, Rötung des Rachens, Hautrötung, allergische Reaktion und Schmerzen in der Brust wurden bei Kindern häufiger beobachtet als bei Erwachsenen.
Nach der Markteinführung von Grazax wurden Einzelfälle von Sodbrennen berichtet.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen haben, kann es sein, dass Sie Antiallergika wie Antihistaminika einnehmen müssen.
