Felodipin-Mepha enthält als Wirkstoff Felodipin und dient zur Behandlung aller Formen des Bluthochdrucks (Hypertonie) sowie von Angina pectoris (schmerzhafte Brustenge). Felodipin gehört in die Gruppe der Calcium-Antagonisten, welche die Stoffwechselvorgänge in den Herz- und Gefässmuskelzellen beeinflussen. Durch die Entspannung der Gefässmuskulatur sowie die Erweiterung der arteriellen Blutgefässe wird der erhöhte Blutdruck auf ein normales Niveau gesenkt.
Felodipin-Mepha darf nur auf Verschreibung und unter ständiger Kontrolle des Arztes oder der Ärztin verwendet werden.
Felodipin-Mepha darf bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit auf den Wirkstoff Felodipin oder einen der Hilfsstoffe nicht eingenommen werden.
Ebenso darf Felodipin-Mepha nicht eingenommen werden
Die blutdrucksenkende Wirkung von Felodipin-Mepha kann durch andere blutdrucksenkende Arzneimittel verstärkt werden.
Eine Reihe von Medikamenten können bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme die blutdrucksenkende Wirkung von Felodipin-Mepha beeinflussen. Dazu gehören zum Beispiel gewisse Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von übermässiger Säureproduktion im Magen, bakteriellen oder virale Infektionen, Pilzerkrankungen, Depressionen (auch z.b. Johanniskraut) und Epilepsie.
Felodipin-Mepha kann wie andere gefässerweiternde Arzneimittel einen Blutdruckabfall mit Herzrasen (erhöhter Puls) hervorrufen. Da dies bei bestimmten Patienten zu einer verminderten Durchblutung des Herzmuskels führen kann, fragen Sie bitte Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, ob für Sie ein erhöhtes Risiko besteht.
Vorsicht ist bei der Einnahme von Felodipin-Mepha geboten, wenn Sie eine Neigung zu erhöhtem Puls haben.
Besondere Vorsicht ist bei der Einnahme von Felodipin-Mepha geboten, wenn Ihre Nierenfunktion stark eingeschränkt ist. Da Felodipin in der Leber verstoffwechselt wird ist bei eingeschränkter Leberfunktion ebenfalls Vorsicht geboten.
Felodipin-Mepha darf nicht mit Grapefruitsaft eingenommen werden, da dies eine verstärkte Wirkung zur Folge haben kann.
Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen. Dies gilt in verstärktem Mass bei Behandlungsbeginn sowie bei Genuss von Alkohol.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen!
Sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, wenn Sie schwanger sind oder es werden möchten. Felodipin-Mepha darf während der Schwangerschaft nicht eingenommen werden.
Der Wirkstoff geht in die Muttermilch über. Über die Verwendung in der Stillzeit entscheidet Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.
Der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin wird aufgrund regelmässiger Blutdruckkontrollen die für Sie zutreffende Dosierung festlegen.
Bluthochdruck sowie Angina pectoris müssen über längere Zeit behandelt werden und bedürfen daher regelmässiger ärztlicher Kontrollen.
Üblicherweise soll morgens zum Frühstück 1 Depotabs Felodipin-Mepha 5 bzw. Felodipin-Mepha 10 eingenommen werden.
Da die Felodipin-Mepha Depotabs nicht geteilt werden können, kann Ihnen der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin für eine optimale Dosisanpassung auch die Felodipin-Mepha 2.5 Depotabs verschreiben.
Das Depotabs wird unzerkaut mit genügend Flüssigkeit eingenommen. Es darf nicht geteilt, sondern muss ganz geschluckt werden. Die Depotabs können nüchtern oder nach einem leichten, fett- und kohlenhydratarmen Frühstück eingenommen werden.
Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Felodipin-Mepha bei Kindern und Jugendlichen ist bisher nicht geprüft worden
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme von Felodipin-Mepha auftreten (vor allem zu Beginn der Behandlung oder nach Dosiserhöhung). Diese Begleiterscheinungen sind meist vorübergehend und schwächen sich im Verlauf der weiteren Therapie ab.
Häufig wird über Kopfschmerzen, Wasseransammlungen im Gewebe, Knöchelschwellungenberichtet. Gelegentlich können Schwindel, Müdigkeit schneller Puls, auffallend langsamer Puls, zu tiefer Blutdruck, Herzklopfen, Übelkeit, Bauchschmerzen, Gesichtsrötung, Juckreiz auftreten. Selten wurde über unregelmässiger Herzschlag, Erbrechen, Nesselsucht, Muskel- und Gelenkschmerzen, Muskelzittern, Impotenz und sexuelle Dysfunktion berichtet. Sehr selten wurde über Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen, plötzliche Schwellung von Haut/Schleimhaut, häufig im Gesicht, erhöhte Lichtempfindlichkeit der Haut, Unruhe, Herzinfarkt, Atembeschwerden, Durchfall, Verstopfung, häufiges Entleeren kleiner Harnmengen, grossflächige Hautabschuppungen, Vergrösserung der männlichen Brustdrüse, verlängerte/starke Menstruation, Gewichtszunahme, Schweissausbrüche berichtet
Bei Patienten mit ausgeprägten Zahnfleischentzündungen kann es zu Zahnfleischveränderungen kommen, die sich jedoch durch eine sorgfältige Zahnhygiene vermeiden lassen oder sich zurückbilden.
Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.
In der Originalpackung, vor Licht geschützt und bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) lagern. Für Kindern unerreichbar aufbewahren.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Falls Sie im Besitz von verfallenen Medikamenten sind, bringen Sie diese zur Entsorgung in Ihre Apotheke zurück.
