Eprotan-Mepha plus ist ein Kombinationsarzneimittel zur Behandlung des hohen Blutdruckes.
Die eine Komponente (Eprosartan) blockiert Rezeptoren (Bindungsstellen) von körpereigenen Transmittern (Überträgersubstanzen), die für den erhöhten Blutdruck verantwortlich sind. Dies führt zu einer Senkung des erhöhten Blutdruckes.
Hydrochlorothiazid gehört zur Gruppe der sogenannten Diuretika (harntreibende Mittel). Es fördert die Ausscheidung von Natrium, Chlorid und Wasser durch die Nieren und bewirkt dadurch eine Senkung des Blutdruckes.
Eprotan-Mepha plus darf ausschliesslich auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin zur Behandlung von hohem Blutdruck angewendet werden.
Die Anwendung von Eprotan-Mepha plus beschränkt sich auf Erwachsene.
Sie dürfen Eprotan-Mepha plus nicht einnehmen bei:
Bei nachfolgend aufgelisteten Bedingungen muss Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin je nach Umständen von einer Behandlung mit Eprotan-Mepha plus absehen, Ihre bisherige Medikation anpassen und/oder zu Ihrer Sicherheit ergänzende Massnahmen, wie z.B. vermehrte Kontrolluntersuchungen durchführen.
Informieren Sie daher Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin unbedingt vor Beginn der Behandlung mit Eprotan-Mepha plus
Vorsicht ist geboten bei gleichzeitiger Einnahme von Eprotan-Mepha plus und Alkohol, da es dadurch beim Aufstehen aus dem Sitzen oder Liegen verstärkt zu einem plötzlichen Abfall des Blutruckes und damit zu Schwindel bis hin zur Ohnmacht kommen kann.
Eprotan-Mepha plus sollte mindestens 4 Stunden vor oder nach sogenannten Anionenaustauscherharzen (z.B. Arzneimittel mit dem Wirkstoff Cholestyramin oder Colestipol) eingenommen werden, da ansonsten die Wirkung von Eprotan-Mepha plus vermindert sein kann.
Der in Eprotan-Mepha plus enthaltene Wirkstoff Hydrochlorothazid kann bei Dopingtests zu positiven Ergebnissen führen.
Wie jedes blutdrucksenkende Arzneimittel kann auch Eprotan-Mepha plus Ihre Aufmerksamkeit und Konzentration beeinträchtigen. Daher ist Vorsicht im Strassenverkehr und beim Bedienen von Maschinen geboten.
Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie
Teilen Sie Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin mit, wenn Sie vermuten, schwanger zu sein (oder schwanger werden könnten). In der Regel wird Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin Ihnen empfehlen, Eprotan-Mepha plus vor einer Schwangerschaft bzw. sobald Sie wissen, dass Sie schwanger sind, abzusetzen, und er wird Ihnen ein anderes Arzneimittel empfehlen. Die Anwendung von Eprotan-Mepha plus in der frühen Schwangerschaft wird nicht empfohlen und Eprotan-Mepha plus darf nicht mehr nach dem dritten Schwangerschaftsmonat eingenommen werden, da die Einnahme von Eprotan-Mepha plus in diesem Stadium zu schweren Schädigungen Ihres ungeborenen Kindes führen kann.
Teilen sie Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin mit, wenn Sie stillen oder mit dem Stillen beginnen wollen. Sie dürfen Ihr Kind nicht stillen, wenn Sie Eprotan-Mepha plus einnehmen. Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wird eine andere Behandlung auswählen, wenn Sie stillen wollen, vor allem, solange Ihr Kind im Neugeborenenalter ist oder wenn es eine Frühgeburt war.
Die folgenden Angaben gelten, soweit Ihnen Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin Eprotan-Mepha plus nicht anders verordnet hat. Bitte halten Sie sich an die Anwendungsvorschriften, da Eprotan-Mepha plus sonst nicht richtig wirken kann!
Die übliche Dosierung beträgt über die gesamte Behandlungsdauer 1 mal täglich 1 Lactab (entsprechend 600 mg Eprosartan + 12.5 mg Hydrochlorothiazid).
Die Dosierung ist unabhängig vom Alter.
Eprotan-Mepha plus wird mit Flüssigkeit geschluckt. Die Einnahme kann unabhängig von einer Mahlzeit erfolgen. Es empfiehlt sich jedoch, Eprotan-Mepha plus täglich zur selben Zeit (z.B. morgens) einzunehmen. Wenn Sie vergessen haben zur gewohnten Zeit die Lactab einzunehmen, holen Sie dies sobald wie möglich nach. Nehmen Sie die nächste Dosis zur üblichen Zeit ein. Verdoppeln Sie die Dosis nicht!
Benachrichtigen Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie mehr Lactab eingenommen haben, als er Ihnen verschrieben hat.
Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.
Da die Wirksamkeit und Unbedenklichkeit einer Verabreichung an Kindern und Jugendlichen nicht belegt ist, soll Eprotan-Mepha plus Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren nicht verabreicht werden.
Bei der Einnahme von Eprotan-Mepha plus können in der Reihenfolge ihrer Häufigkeit folgende unerwünschte Wirkungen auftreten:
Sehr häufig (in mehr als 1 von 10 Fällen): Kopfschmerzen.
Häufig (in mehr als 1 aber weniger als 10 von 100 Fällen): Schwindel, Kribbeln, tiefer Blutdruck, Entzündung der Nasenschleimhäute, Übelkeit, Durchfall, Erbrechen, erhöhter Blutzucker, Hautausschlag (bei starken Hautausschlägen sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin konsultieren), Schwächezustände.
Gelegentlich (in mehr als 1 aber weniger als 10 von 1000 Fällen): erhöhte Empfindlichkeit, Gicht, Depression, Angstzustände, Schlaflosigkeit, Nervosität, veränderte sexuelle Lust, Müdigkeit, Nervenschmerzen, Herzrhythmusstörungen, Bronchitis, Husten, Nasenbluten, Rachenentzündungen, Infektion der oberen Atemwege, Verstopfung, Verdauungsstörungen, Bauchschmerzen, Reizmagen, Schwellungen z.B. im Gesicht oder an den Gliedmassen (wenn diese Nebenwirkung auftritt, müssen Sie sofort Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin benachrichtigen), Krämpfe, Rückenschmerzen, Gelenkschmerzen und -entzündungen, Infektion der Harnwege, verminderte sexuelle Fähigkeiten, Impotenz, Fieber, Mundtrockenheit, Schwitzen.
Selten (in mehr als 1 aber weniger als 10 von 10?000 Fällen): Wasserlunge, Lungenentzündung, Bauchspeicheldrüsenentzündung, Verschlechterung des Diabetes.
Sehr selten (in weniger als 1 von 10?000 Fälle): Allergische Reaktionen, Appetitlosigkeit, Ruhelosigkeit, Sehstörungen, Gefässentzündung, Gelbsucht, blasige Ablösungen der Epidermis der Haut (Lell-Syndrom), Lichtsensibilität, Schmetterlingsgeflecht (Systemischer Lupus Erythematodes), Nierenversagen, Nierenfunktionsstörungen.

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP:» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
