+-Was ist Eletriptan-Mepha und wann wird es angewendet?

Eletriptan-Mepha gehört zu den sogenannten 5-HT1-Agonisten und darf nur auf Verschreibung des Arztes oder der Ärztin angewendet werden.

Eletriptan-Mepha wird für die Akutbehandlung der Migräne mit oder ohne Aura angewendet. Migränekopfschmerzen werden wahrscheinlich durch eine schmerzhafte Erweiterung und Entzündung von Blutgefässen im Kopf verursacht. Eletriptan-Mepha wirkt vermutlich, indem es diese erweiterten Blutgefässe wieder verengt.

Die sogenannte Auraphase kann der eigentlichen Migräne vorausgehen und z.B. Sehstörungen, Taubheitsgefühle oder Sprachstörungen beinhalten.

+-Wann darf Eletriptan-Mepha nicht angewendet werden?

Sie dürfen Eletriptan-Mepha nicht einnehmen, wenn Sie

auf Eletriptan oder einen der anderen Inhaltsstoffe von Eletriptan-Mepha, wie z.B. den Farbstoff Gelborange S (E110) überempfindlich reagieren,
an einer schweren Lebererkrankung leiden,
an einer Nierenfunktionsstörung leiden,
an hohem und therapeutisch ungenügend kontrolliertem Blutdruck leiden,
jemals an Herzkrankheiten wie z.B. Herzinfarkt oder Angina pectoris oder anderen Durchblutungsstörungen des Herzmuskels oder der Herzkranzgefässe (z.B. Prinzmetal-Angina) gelitten haben,
an Gefässerkrankungen/Durchblutungsstörungen der Gliedmassen oder des Gehirns leiden,
bei Ihnen jemals ein Schlaganfall aufgetreten ist (auch ein leichter Schlaganfall, der nur einige Minuten oder Stunden gedauert hat),
andere Migränemittel wie Ergotamin (wie z.B. Cafergot^® und Cafergot-PB^®), dem Ergotamin verwandte Substanzen (einschliesslich Methysergid) 24 Stunden vor oder nach der Einnahme von Eletriptan-Mepha eingenommen haben,
gleichzeitig andere 5-HT1-Rezeptor-Agonisten (Triptane) einnehmen.

+-Wann ist bei der Anwendung von Eletriptan-Mepha Vorsicht geboten?

Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen.

Wenn bei Ihnen je ein erhöhtes Risiko für eine Herzerkrankung festgestellt wurde oder Risikofaktoren für eine Herzkrankheit bestehen (z.B. Bluthochdruck, Zuckerkrankheit, Nikotingenuss oder Nikotinersatztherapie, Herzkrankheiten in der Familie, Männer über 40, Frauen nach der Menopause bzw. den Wechseljahren), wenn Sie an Epilepsie leiden oder zu Krampfanfällen neigen, sollten Sie Eletriptan-Mepha nur nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin anwenden.

Patientinnen und Patienten, die auf Azofarbstoffe, Acetylsalicylsäure sowie auf Rheuma- und Schmerzmittel (Prostaglandinhemmer) überempfindlich reagieren, sollen Eletriptan-Mepha nicht einnehmen (siehe «Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Eletriptan-Mepha haben?»).

Eletriptan-Mepha Lactab enthalten Laktose, daher sollten Patienten und Patientinnen mit der seltenen, vererbten Galactose-Unverträglichkeit, mit einem Lactase-Mangel oder einer Glucose-Galactose-Malabsorption Eletriptan-Mepha nicht einnehmen.

Da Eletriptan-Mepha mit gewissen anderen Arzneimittel zu Wechselwirkungen führen kann, sollten Sie Eletriptan-Mepha nur nach vorheriger Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin mit anderen Arzneimitteln kombinieren. Sie sollten Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin informieren wenn Sie eines der folgenden Arzneimittel einnehmen:

andere Mittel gegen Migräne
gewisse Antibiotika wie Erythromycin, Clarithromycin und Josamycin
bestimmte Arzneimittel gegen Pilzerkrankungen wie Ketoconazol und Itraconazol
so genannte Protease-Inhibitoren, wie Ritonavir, Indinavir und Nelfinavir

Ihr Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin kann eine tiefere Dosierung für Eletriptan-Mepha vorschreiben, falls Sie eines der oben erwähnten Arzneimittel einnehmen.

In seltenen Fällen kann ein sogenanntes «Serotonin-Syndrom» auftreten, wenn Triptane, einschliesslich Eletriptan-Mepha, zusammen mit anderen Arzneimitteln mit serotonerger Wirkung angewendet werden. Dazu gehören bestimmte Typen von Arzneimitteln gegen Depression (z.B. sogenannte selektive Serotonin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer oder selektive Serotonin/Noradrenalin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer, sog. MAO-Hemmer, L-Tryptophan, Lithium, trizyklische Antidepressiva, Johanniskraut) und bestimmte Schmerzmittel (Opiate). Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie mit diesen Arzneimitteln behandelt werden. Das «Serotonin-Syndrom» kann folgende Symptome umfassen: Gesteigerte Erregbarkeit der Muskeleigenreflexe, Muskelzuckungen, Zittern, Unruhe, Angst, Halluzinationen, Reizbarkeit bis zum Verwirrtheitszustand und zur Bewusstlosigkeit, schneller Herzschlag, Blutdruckschwankungen, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Fieber und Durchfall. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn nach Einnahme von Eletriptan-Mepha eines dieser Symptome auftritt.

Falls während der Behandlung mit Eletriptan-Mepha Schwellungen im Gesicht (z.B. Lippen, Augenlider), der Zunge oder im Rachen (Schluck- oder Atembeschwerden) auftreten (Angioödem), kontaktieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.

Die übermässige Anwendung von Arzneimitteln zur Behandlung von Kopfschmerzen wurde bei diesbezüglich empfindlichen Patienten mit einer Verschlimmerung der Kopfschmerzen in Verbindung gebracht (Medikamentenkopfschmerz). Ihr Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin wird in diesem Fall möglicherweise die Behandlung mit Eletriptan-Mepha absetzen.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie

an anderen Krankheiten leiden,
Allergien haben oder
andere Arzneimittel (auch selbstgekaufte!) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!

+-Darf Eletriptan-Mepha während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Wenn Sie schwanger sind, es werden möchten oder stillen, sollten Sie Eletriptan-Mepha nur nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin einnehmen.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Eletriptan-Mepha?

Eletriptan-Mepha sollte so früh wie möglich nach Einsetzen eines Migräneanfalls genommen werden. Eletriptan-Mepha darf nicht zur Vorbeugung eines Migräneanfalls eingenommen werden. Eletriptan-Mepha sollte auch nicht während der sogenannten "Aura"-Phase, welche der eigentlichen Migräne vorausgehen und z.B. Sehstörungen, Taubheitsgefühle oder Sprachstörungen beinhalten kann, eingenommen werden.

Falls vom Arzt bzw. der Ärztin nicht anders verordnet, gelten folgende Dosierungsrichtlinien:

Die übliche Anfangsdosis ist eine Lactab zu 40 mg. Wenn 2 Stunden nach der ersten Lactab keine Besserung eintritt, sollten Sie keine zweite Lactab einnehmen. Fragen Sie in einem solchen Fall Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin um Rat.

Wenn nach anfänglicher Besserung die Migränekopfschmerzen erneut auftreten, können Sie eine zweite Lactab einnehmen. In diesem Fall sollten Sie zwei Stunden Abstand zwischen der ersten und zweiten Lactab einhalten.

Sie sollten nicht mehr als 160 mg Eletriptan (4 Lactab à 40 mg oder 2 Lactab à 80 mg) innerhalb von 24 Stunden einnehmen.

Sie sollten die Lactab mit etwas Wasser unzerkaut einnehmen.

Bei Patienten über 65 Jahren ist bei der Anwendung von Dosierungen über 40 mg Eletriptan Vorsicht angebracht.

Die Anwendung von Eletriptan-Mepha wird bei Kindern und Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren nicht empfohlen.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

Wie sollen Sie sich verhalten, wenn Sie zu viele Lactab eingenommen haben?

Halten Sie sich immer an die ärztliche Verschreibung. Wenn Sie mehr Lactab als verschrieben eingenommen haben oder jemand anders Ihre Lactab genommen hat, informieren Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Eletriptan-Mepha haben?

Folgende Nebenwirkungen können bei der Einnahme oder Anwendung von Eletriptan-Mepha auftreten:

Nebenwirkungen sind meist leicht bis mässig ausgeprägt und halten nicht lange an. Sie können zum Teil auch durch die Migräne selbst verursacht sein.

Häufig wurde über Müdigkeit, Schläfrigkeit, Schwächegefühl, Rückenschmerzen, Schüttelfrost, Verdauungsbeschwerden (Dyspepsie), Übelkeit, Bauchschmerzen, Schwindel, Benommenheit, verminderte Berührungsempfindlichkeit (Hypästhesie), Schwitzen, Wärmegefühl/Gesichtsrötung (Flush), Kribbeln, Engegefühl in der Brust und im Hals, Herzklopfen, Herzrasen, Mundtrockenheit, Schluckbeschwerden/Juckreiz oder Brennen im Rachen, Muskelsteife, Muskelschmerzen und Kopfschmerzen berichtet.

Seit der Markteinführung wurden zusätzlich folgende Nebenwirkungen beobachtet: Allergische Reaktionen, Schwellungen im Gesicht (z.B. Lippen, Augenlider), Schwellung der Zunge, Schwellungen an den Gliedmassen und/oder im Rachenraum (sogenanntes Angioödem), Jucken, Hautausschlag, Durchblutungsstörungen des Dickdarms, Erbrechen, Bluthochdruck, niedriger Blutdruck, Ohnmacht, Durchblutungsstörungen des Herzmuskels (z.B. Herzinfarkt, Angina pectoris) und teilweise schwere Sehstörungen.

Wenden Sie sich unverzüglich an Ihren Arzt oder Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie eine dieser Nebenwirkungen bemerken oder wenn Schwere, Schmerz, Druck- oder Engegefühl im Brust-Halsbereich auftritt.

Der Farbstoff E110 kann Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen an der Haut und den Atmungsorganen auslösen, insbesondere bei Patientinnen und Patienten mit Asthma, Nesselfieber (chronischer Urticaria) oder Überempfindlichkeit auf Acetylsalicylsäure und andere Rheuma- und Schmerzmittel.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, wenn Sie unter den oben erwähnten Wirkungen leiden während Sie Eletriptan-Mepha einnehmen.

Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

+-Was ist ferner zu beachten?

In der Originalverpackung nicht über 30 °C lagern. Für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahren.

Eletriptan-Mepha Lactab dürfen nur bis zu dem auf der Packung mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Die nicht verwendeten Lactab sollen Sie an Ihre Apotheke zurückbringen.
