+-Was ist Cansartan-Mepha Plus und wann wird es angewendet?

Cansartan-Mepha Plus enthält als Wirkstoffe Candesartan-Cilexetil und Hydrochlorothiazid und dient zur Behandlung des Bluthochdrucks (Hypertonie). Candesartan-Cilexetil blockiert spezifisch körpereigene Bindungsstellen (sog. Angiotensin-II-Rezeptoren) und gehört zu einer Gruppe von Arzneimitteln, die Angiotension-II-Rezeptor-Antagonisten genannt werden. Es wirkt, indem es die Blutgefässe erweitert und somit den Blutdruck senkt.

Hydrochlorothiazid gehört zur Gruppe der sogenannten Diuretika (harntreibende Mittel). Es fördert die Ausscheidung von Natrium, Chlorid und Wasser durch die Niere und bewirkt dadurch eine Senkung des Blutdruckes.

Cansartan-Mepha Plus darf nur auf Verschreibung und unter ständiger Kontrolle des Arztes oder der Ärztin eingenommen werden.

+-Wann darf Cansartan-Mepha Plus nicht eingenommen werden?

Cansartan-Mepha Plus darf bei bekannter Überempfindlichkeit auf die Wirkstoffe Candesartan-Cilexetil, Hydrochlorothiazid oder einen der Hilfsstoffe nicht eingenommen werden. Ausserdem darf Cansartan-Mepha Plus bei schweren Krankheiten der Leber und der Niere, bei ungenügender Harnausscheidung, bei Mangelerscheinungen an Kalium und Natrium im Blut sowie bei Kalziumstörungen, Gicht und Gallenstauung nicht eingenommen werden. Wenn Sie schwanger sind sowie in der Stillzeit darf Cansartan-Mepha Plus ebenfalls nicht eingenommen werden.

Wenn Sie an Diabetes mellitus (Typ 1 oder Typ 2) leiden oder eine eingeschränkte Nierenfunktion haben und Aliskiren-enthaltende Arzneimittel zur Blutdrucksenkung einnehmen (z.B. Rasilez^®), dürfen Sie Cansartan-Mepha Plus nicht einnehmen.

Falls früher anlässlich der Einnahme eines blutdrucksenkenden Arzneimittels Schwellungen im Gesicht, an Lippen, Zunge oder im Rachen (Schluck- oder Atembeschwerden) auftraten, dürfen Sie Cansartan-Mepha Plus nicht einnehmen.

+-Wann ist bei der Einnahme von Cansartan-Mepha Plus Vorsicht geboten?

Dieses Arzneimittel kann die Reaktionsfähigkeit, die Fahrtüchtigkeit und die Fähigkeit, Werkzeuge oder Maschinen zu bedienen, beeinträchtigen!

Es ist besonders wichtig, dass Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin informieren, wenn Sie an einer Erkrankung der Niere oder der Leber leiden, oder wenn Sie gleichzeitig gewisse Antikoagulantien (Blutverdünner) einnehmen müssen. Besondere Vorsicht ist auch geboten bei Störungen im Salzhaushalt (Kalium) und bei Herzklappenerkrankungen. Cansartan-Mepha Plus enthält Laktose (Milchzucker). Wenn Sie an einer Laktose-Unverträglichkeit leiden, sollten Sie dieses Arzneimittel nicht einnehmen.

Bei Patientinnen bzw. Patienten mit Zuckerkrankheit (Diabetes) ist eine neue Dosiseinstellung der Arzneimittel nötig. Bei gichtgefährdeten Patientinnen bzw. Patienten können Gichtanfälle ausgelöst werden.

Im Weiteren sollten Sie Ihrem Arzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin mitteilen, wenn Sie gleichzeitig zu Cansartan-Mepha Plus Arzneimittel, welche die Kaliumwerte im Blut erhöhen können (z.B. bestimmte harntreibende Mittel wie kaliumsparende Diuretika, Kaliumpräparate oder Heparin), Lithiumpräparate oder regelmässig Schmerzmittel gegen rheumatische Beschwerden (nichtsteroidale Antirheumatika oder COX-2-Hemmer) oder Acetylsalicylsäure (Wirkstoff von Aspirin und anderen Schmerzmitteln) einnehmen. Die Anwendung von Cansartan-Mepha Plus in Kombination mit Arzneimitteln, die den Wirkstoff Aliskiren enthalten, wird nicht empfohlen.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin wenn Sie ACE-Hemmer (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von hohem Blutdruck, wie z.B. Enalapril, Lisinopril oder Ramipril) einnehmen. Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin insbesondere, wenn Sie Nierenprobleme aufgrund von Diabetes haben.

Teilen Sie Ihrem Arzt oder Zahnarzt bzw. Ihrer Ärztin oder Zahnärztin vor einem operativen Eingriff mit, dass Sie Cansartan-Mepha Plus einnehmen. Wird dieses Arzneimittel gleichzeitig mit gewissen Anästhetika angewendet, kann ein übermässiger Blutdruckabfall auftreten.

Wie bei anderen blutdrucksenkenden Arzneimitteln kann auch bei Cansartan-Mepha Plus gelegentlich Schwindel und Müdigkeit auftreten.

Informieren Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin, wenn Sie an anderen Krankheiten leiden, Allergien haben oder andere Arzneimittel (auch selbst gekaufte) einnehmen oder äusserlich anwenden!

+-Darf Cansartan-Mepha Plus während einer Schwangerschaft oder in der Stillzeit eingenommen werden?

Wenn Sie schwanger sind, eine Schwangerschaft planen oder Ihr Kind stillen, dürfen Sie Cansartan-Mepha Plus nicht einnehmen. Von ähnlichen Arzneimitteln ist bekannt, dass sie bei der Anwendung während der Schwangerschaft den Fötus schädigen können. Wenn Sie während der Einnahme von Cansartan-Mepha Plus schwanger werden, informieren Sie sofort Ihren Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin, so dass über eine Absetzung des Präparates entschieden werden kann.

+-Wie verwenden Sie Cansartan-Mepha Plus?

Der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin wird aufgrund regelmässiger Blutdruckkontrollen die für Sie zutreffende Dosierung festlegen. Es ist sehr wichtig, dass Sie Cansartan-Mepha Plus jeden Tag so einnehmen, wie es Ihnen der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin vorgeschrieben hat.

Üblicherweise beträgt die Dosierung 1 Tablette Cansartan-Mepha Plus 8/12.5 mg oder 1 Tablette Cansartan-Mepha Plus 16/12.5 mg täglich. Wird die Blutdruckkontrolle damit nicht optimal erreicht, kann der Arzt bzw. die Ärztin 1 Tablette Cansartan-Mepha Plus 32/12.5 mg oder 1 Tablette Cansartan-Mepha Plus 32/25 mg täglich verschreiben. Cansartan-Mepha Plus kann mit oder ohne Mahlzeiten eingenommen werden. Am besten nehmen Sie die Tablette immer zur gleichen Zeit, z.B. morgens ein.

Wenn Sie mehr als die vorgeschriebene Dosis eingenommen haben, kontaktieren Sie unverzüglich Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

Wenn Sie vergessen haben eine Tablette einzunehmen, dann holen Sie dies nach, sobald Sie sich daran erinnern. Ist es jedoch bald Zeit, die nächste Tablette einzunehmen, dann nehmen Sie die vergessene Tablette nicht mehr ein.

Die Anwendung und Sicherheit von Cansartan-Mepha Plus bei Kindern und Jugendlichen sind bisher nicht geprüft worden.

Ändern Sie nicht von sich aus die verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin oder Apothekerin.

+-Welche Nebenwirkungen kann Cansartan-Mepha Plus haben?

Häufig sind Schwindel, Atemwegsinfektionen, Störungen im Stoffwechsel (z.B. erhöhter Blutzuckerspiegel) oder im Salzhaushalt, Benommenheit, Kopfschmerzen, Rückenschmerzen und Schwäche beobachtet worden.

Gelegentlich können tiefer Blutdruck, Appetitlosigkeit, Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Bauchschmerzen, Durchfall, Verstopfung, Hautausschlag, Nesselfieber und erhöhte Lichtempfindlichkeit der Haut auftreten.

Selten ist über Veränderungen im Blutbild, Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen, Verschlechterung einer Zuckerkrankheit, Schlafstörungen, Schwindel, Depression, Unruhe, Kribbeln in den Händen und Füssen, vorübergehende Sehstörungen, Herzrhythmusstörungen, Atemwegsbeschwerden, Husten, Gelbsucht, Muskelkrämpfe, Nierenstörungen, Fieber und Lupus erythematodes (Autoimmunerkrankung mit Befall der Haut oder Organe) berichtet worden.

Sehr selten sind Lebererkrankungen (z.B. Hepatitis), Juckreiz, Gelenkschmerzen und Muskelschmerzen, aufgetreten. Sehr selten können auch Schwellungen der Haut (v.a. des Gesichts, der Lippen, der Zunge, der Augen) und/oder der Schleimhaut (Angioödem), Juckreiz oder Nesselausschlag, akute Kurzsichtigkeit, akuter grüner Star (Engwinkelglaukom) auftreten. In diesem Fall müssen Sie sofort die Einnahme von Cansartan-Mepha Plus unterbrechen und den Arzt bzw. Ihre Ärztin aufsuchen.

Weitere mögliche unerwünschte Wirkungen sind: Herzklopfen, Brustschmerzen, Angina pectoris (Symptome wie Schmerzen im Brustkorb und/oder Schulter-Arm-Bereich, Atemnot), Herzinfarkt, Nasenbluten, Ängstlichkeit und Atemnot.

Diese Nebenwirkungen sind nicht zwingend durch Cansartan-Mepha Plus verursacht, denn sie wurden auch an Patienten festgestellt, die das Arzneimittel nicht eingenommen haben.

Wenn Sie Nebenwirkungen bemerken, die hier nicht beschrieben sind, sollten Sie Ihren Arzt oder Apotheker bzw. Ihre Ärztin oder Apothekerin informieren.

In der Originalverpackung und bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) aufbewahren. Für Kinder unerreichbar aufbewahren.

Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf der Packung mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden.
