Die Wurzel des Stechenden Mausedorns wird traditionell verwendet, um im Falle eines leichten Venenleidens Schmerzen aufgrund von schweren Beinen zu behandeln.
Bei Auftreten einer Hautrötung oder Hautverdickung, einer plötzlichen Schwellung, die mit Schmerzen in einem oder beiden Beinen einhergeht, einer Herz- und Nierenschwäche oder von Darmblutungen ist ein Arzt bwz. eine Ärztin aufzusuchen. Im Falle eines Venenleidens kann sich auch die Lebensführung auf die Schmerzen auswirken. Vermeiden Sie daher längeres Stehen oder Sitzen. Empfehlenswert sind dagegen Fussmärsche und das Tragen von Stützstrümpfen. Auch das Anheben der Beine kann hilfreich sein.
Darf im Falle einer Überempfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Wirkstoff nicht verwendet werden. Falls während der Behandlung Durchfälle auftreten und der Verdacht auf eine Iymphozytäre Kolitis (Dickdarmentzündung) besteht, müssen Sie die Behandlung sofort unterbrechen und einen Arzt aufsuchen bwz. eine Ärztin. Fragen Sie Ihren Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten, bwz. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin wenn:
Auf Grund der bisherigen Erfahrung ist bei bestimmungsgemässer Anwendung kein Risiko für das Kind bekannt. Systematische wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen wurden aber nie durchgeführt. Vorsichtshalber sollten Sie während der Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit möglichst auf Arzneimittel verzichten oder den Arzt, den Apotheker oder den Drogisten bzw. die Ärztin, die Apothekerin oder die Drogistin um Rat fragen.
Bei Erwachsenen beträgt die Dosis 3 Kapseln pro Tag (1 morgens, 1 mittags, 1 abens) während den Mahlzeiten mit einem Glas Wasser. Halten Sie sich an die in der Packungsbeilage angegebenen oder vom Arzt bzw. von der Ärztin verschriebene Dosierung. Wenn Sie glauben, das Arzneimittel wirke zu schwach oder zu stark, so sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogisten bzw. mit Ihrer Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Bei der Behandlung mit Präparaten, die als Wirkstoff den Stechenden Mäusedorn enthalten, wurden bislang folgende Nebenwirkungen beobachtet: Übelkeit, Magen-Darm-Beschwerden und Durchfall. Bislang ist nicht bekannt, wie häufig diese Nebenwirkungen auftreten. In sehr seltenen Fällen wurden allergische Reaktionen oder wässrige Durchfälle (Symptom einer lymphozytären Kolitis) registriert. In diesem Fall muss die Behandlung unterbrochen und ein Arzt oder, Ärztin aufgesucht werden.
Das Arzneimittel darf nur bis zu dem auf dem Behälter mit «EXP» bezeichneten Datum verwendet werden. Den Behälter in der Originalpackung aufbewahren um den Inhalt vor Licht und Feuchtigkeit zu schützen und bei Raumtemperatur (15-25 °C) lagern. Ausser Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren. Weitere Auskünfte erteilt Ihnen Ihr Arzt, Apotheker oder Drogist bzw. Ihre Ärztin, Apothekerin oder Drogistin.
Eine Kapsel enthält 350 mg Pulver aus Mäusedornwurzel. Dieses Präparat enthält zusätzlich Hifsstoffe.
